And for your eyes, you should keep the refresh rate of your CRT (AKA monitor) at least 70 Hz and up through your video card setting. It is not default setting for many OS. I keep mine at 85 at 16 bits colours, and if your card/monitor can not do it, change them.

The new look is great Fred!
Looks slick and and up to date. like the buttons and extra gadgets. I must have missed the bright orange phase cause this looks very good and easy to distinguish for me.

The new look and text seems hard on the eyes.
Pages so far take longer to load. I use the Opera browser and am not getting that instant change as before.
Hitting the last post of a thread at the far right isn`t as accurate as the previous version.

I have to agree with that. Though the look is visually appealing, it lacks functionality since (IMHO) it makes reading posts more difficult. The contrast of text vs background just isn't as conducive to reading as the old style was.WoodPeckr said:

Noticed that lag first thing. Probably due to more items, icons etc., having to be loaded when pages are changed. Even hitting the reload/refresh button takes longer than before.

Main page load time: MERB 29sec, TERB 36sec.
Lounge load time: MERB 28sec, TERB 40sec.
Probably due to (IMO) a lot of unnecessary js and CSS.
Unnecessary because I have them both turned off and I get
everything I need and more. I think reloading the quickreply section everytime you change pages is a waste too - I never use it.
Am I complaining too much ? Just trying to make my quota.

It was like walking into a room you're familiar with and seeing everything had changed. Stepping back through the door, looking at the number, just to make sure you're in the right place.

Adding that touch of gray to the background helps a lot on the eyes. Now it`s not as bright as it was yesterday.
Lag isn`t as bad as yesterday either. Maybe there was more net conjestion, or my browser was just learning the new settings the other day. I have a cable modem and you get used to everything loading fast, like a second or less.

I'm pissed off that I had to read thru 7 pages before I noticed that someone else complained of lag. Just as a note it is still slow, and I am not on at a peak time.
