As of 8:30 Romney 35 percent, Paul 25 percent, Huntsman 17 percent, Santorum 10 percent.

Romney is the first candidate other than a sitting President to win both Iowa and New Hampshire.

The number may be different but the result were not unexpected. I suspect the also rans will wait until they get some feedback from a couple of bible belt states before they decide their futures. Florida and S Carolina took some flack to get further up the calender and be more meaningful in the decision making and they will.

Just finished hearing Romneys victory speech it was still a collection of lies and misrepresentations, and his accolades ate it up. NEXT!

Not true. John Kerry in 2004 won both.

GOP trying to turf Romney?

I think not!

It is the left side spectrum that is trying to turf him....because when Romney gets in, he is the next President.....make note you heard it here first!

Close but I think more so the independant, ~35% of the electorate. The Republican platform will show some holes thank to the 25% which are die hard teabaggers.

If Herman Cain were still in (pre smear campaign) he would have taken Iowa and SC and we would be talking about him as the Republican nomination. I don't think the Tea Party can rally behind any one candidate, Santorum is the flavour du jour but he is a relative unknown. It's Romney's nomination to lose at this point and I'm ok with that. He by far has the best chance to defeat BO.

Well, he's not, so it's just smoke. He's since found refuge on FOX as an analyst, whoa!!!

Smear campaign? Herman slimed himself, and shared it in public. He was incompetent, and arguably had the thinnest depth of knowledge of any presidential candidate I've ever seen.

He's 2-0... and I'd say an easy lock for the nomination....

Santorum certainly isn't the flavour du jour tonight. The only reason he did so well in Iowa is that nobody bothered to spend any money smearing him with negative ads because he's a dud. All of that money went towards Gingrich which is why he's had his legs chopped off from under him as of late. Santorum is just the benefactor of luck and convenient timing. He's not going anywhere. I wouldn't count Gingrich out yet though. I already made that mistake earlier in the race and lost a bet! He's a scrappy S.O.B. He's not going anywhere soon.

What amazes me is how royally Perry squandered an excellent position. After Romney he has the most money, he's got experience. All he should have been repeating is "Texas isnumber one on jobs, Massachusetts is 40-something". He pretty much gave a concession speech after Iowa, but then instead of dropping out as he should have, he hung around to take it right in the eye in New Hampshire. Pourquoi?

The more Perry spoke, the more he sounded and looked like the male version of ditsy Sarah Palin....
