Many people on business plans get new phone deals every couple of years (or sometimes more frequently) and then they sell their old devices. So you can pick up a used iPhone X for $350 - 400. iPhone 11 will be a few hundred more. Apple provides better software support than any Android manufacturer so these devices will be supported for another few years at least.

That's true. Before I replaced my 5 year old iPhone 7, it still functioned as it did when it was new. I did replace the battery last year for $100. Other than that, it was still a good phone but obviously the newest versions have better battery life, screens and cameras.
Macrumors.com is a good resource for what Apple is likely to do. If you don't care that your Iphone does not have all the latest and greatest, the Iphone SE (rumoured to have a new version in 2022) may be worth you looking at as it is Apple new, using parts that Apple has costed down through mass production over a few years.

I agree. In case u need basic apple functionality without the boasts, iPhone SE will get the job done. Fits the hands well, so fingers don’t tire. And iOS updates will easily sail it 5 years ahead.
I own iPhone 13 pro Max which often needs two hands to type and my iPhone 11 Pro is just the right size for single hand use, but I occasionally pick my 6 year old iPhone 5S (iOS 12.5) and feels like a breeze in the hand as well as in the pocket.
Unless u r a movie creator or a fan of hi-fi cameras, most iPhone SE cameras are more than sufficient for daily use. Although screen size is smaller, no doubt, but most people also own an iPad or laptop or other big screen device which can compensate for that, unless u want to use ur phone only, for all ur tasks, all day long.
