New build question

I read that the prices in the i7s was going to drop soon? (AnimalMagnetism), anyone have any ideas when maybe?
I`m considering a new build as well since my current build is pushing 7 years, still runs AMAZING, but for photoshop and big RAW formats it KKKKINDA lags a bit.

Actually the i7 prices went up since last Nov-Dec. Was discussing this with a Geek squad guy at BB a couple days ago who also got his i7 last year when they were a little cheaper. Now he says an i5 is going for what an i7 went for back then. He said some RAM also went up in price.


FWIW: For raw power the i7 can't be beat!

Build your own ....... if you want preformance. You can get an OEM version of Windows 7 for about 130 if my memory is correct ....... check out this thread and it will give you an idea of what it will cost you.

Bass, I have the OS covered already so the cost for that is no issue, but that's the thread I linked in the original post, thanks though.
Will have to dig around and slowly start piecing things together.

Playing with a Mac today at a store sure didn't help my cause either. lol

For raw power and for something that will last you for years the i7 can't be beat. Danolo is building a pretty nice i7 in that other tread worth checking out. For what he is getting his price isn't that bad at all.
