All teams use the same play. A forward stays high to give the defenseman an out in case the defender attacks him. That's how Hyman scored his goal. When Marner floated to the blue line to take pass from Muzzin when defender went to him. So Nylander floating to the blue line was the set play.

I actually missed the first two periods, no, I won't say why. Saw the last 18 minutes of the 3rd period when the Canes completely shut them down. I think one of the sports channels replay the full game (no commercials or stoppages in play) at something like 3AM.
