I think you will find that different publishers specialize in different types of books. Assuming you are interested in publishing a book, a suggestion. If you are looking to publish a romance novel, it won't do you much good to try to get it published with a company that publishes medical text books. One way to narrow down the search is to go to a bookstore and locate books that are somewhat similar to the book that you are interested in getting published. Note the publisher. Then do a search to find the publisher.
