I got my motorcycle license but do not feel good about riding one.

ANY COURSES ON ADVANCE MOTORCYCLE RIDING YOU COULD RECOMMEND?

I want one that gives you a big motorcycle to learn on
then I will buy a big bike if I feel safe.

How big should it be and which one?.

Then I will join a 99% club but which one and how do you join?
Just show up and ride with them?

Do you go through a probate period until give you their patch?
How long does that take?

I appreciate any advice before I do this

Gracias

La la land
Buy a used small moto then gradually by year upgrade to larger one. A co-worker did this in two years. He rode before when he was young so picking it up was not a problem.

If I remember correctly you have to be able to pick up a dropped bike in order to pass the course. At least that is how it was for Durham College’s course. But I can’t remember the size they had as a minimum.

However the lesson is a good one. Don’t get a bike bigger then you can pick up from a drop.

Government-approved motorcycle safety courses

Absolutely fucking take it. I did the Rider Training Institute course as a kid and once every 10 years. I took it just before COVID again.

Do not listen to the "start with a small bike" bullshit and then move up and you'll be safe. You won't kill yourself, the other people around you likely will so size is of less importance. You can kill yourself on a Ninja 400 JUST as easily as a H2R (supercharged, ya baby). GET PROFESSAIONAL TRAINING.

That being said, DO NOT start with a liter bike, that's just dumb, you have absolutely no clue the shear ripping power those have. Get a 500/600cc. The Ninja 650 is a good bike, like any twin it's such a tractor.
Unless you're getting a Harley - and it looks like you are. They're so underpowered it's like riding a 250cc. My grandma rides one no problem.

Get a bike with traction control. Get a bike with ABS. You have no idea how magical ABS on bikes are. I trigger the ABS every day.
Get a light on the back of the helmet that has an Accelerometer for when you're engine braking so cars know you're slowing down.
Don't get a leather jacket, get one of those jacks that have shoulder, elbow and spine protection for WHEN you tumble. Joe Rockets aren't bad. I'm tempted to get an air bag jacket actually. Leathers generally are not armored.
Gloves obviously. Palm sliders are optional, they're a hassle sometimes.
Get real motorcycle boots, most of the injuries will be your ankles when you drop the bike on yourself or from an accident.
Get a full face helmet, june bugs are a bitch if they hit you in the face. Tinted visors are almost impossible at night.

When, not if. I've come close to this @0:43 a few times actually :ROFLMAO:

Also buy a quality full face helmet. The skull cap helmets are practically useless.

Another thing is this motto. ATGATT (All The Gear All The Time) You can be the best rider in the world, but all it takes is one driver not paying attention (and there's lots of them) to knock you off. So it's best to be protected as best you can.

In Montreal, motorcycles are/were babe magnets. I've been told they love the vibration of the engine between their legs. (No, I never rode around Montreal wearing a German helmet. That was the other guy.)

Appreciate your insights.

Want as many comments as I can get

This is a serious decision considering the danger

But the reward of riding with a band of brothers sounds like fun.

While I abhor the violence of the 1 percentage clubs, Sonny Barger said
''Everybody wants to belong to something'' and he is right

Your motorcycle training is not complete until you know how to ride with a naked woman on the back seat.
