Need advice-- unauthorized 1-900 calls...

I wonder if any of you have had the problem I'm facing and know of any solutions available. I have a 20 year old son who is living at home again after having messed up his first year at university. He doesn't have a regular job and appears to have no goals in life at the moment. This is bad enough, but the immediate issue is that he has been spending hundreds of dollars on my phone bill for phone sex calls in the middle of the night. I've tolerated it for a while and asked him not to do this, but now my latest bill has over $600 in 900 number charges and I can't just let this stand.

Obviously he needs help, but do any of you know if there is some way to get Bell to disable pay for service calls from my home phone number, of some other way to stop this happening?

Any advice appreciated.

LOL Goober. I've just followed Sheik's advice and he was perfectly right. I also blocked collect calls for good measure as some of the charges appear as "other carrier messages". Thanks again.

Wrong hole...the kick in the ass theory is quite attractive at times, but not really likely to actually help much. Besides, the "kid" is 6'4" and 220 lbs. He might well kick back.

The kid does need a kick in the ass. I quit high school and ended up with a low paying dead end job. I would meet guy's with 4 kids and had been working in the same joint for 15 years making at that time...$8.50 an hour. The hours sucked and I'd come home every day sweaty, stinky and tired. I ended up going back to school and eventually graduating from University. The best thing I could have done looking back was taking that crappy job. It opened up my eyes to reality. Make the kid get a job and some crap factory job. Maybe he'll learn the value of a decent education. And you may want to mention that there's tons of horny hot chicks at University.

i vote for this guys advice. Talking and life lessons. Blocking the 900 # aint a bad idea though. Or would it block someone else??

Ironically I had a similar problem a few years ago. My ex-wife accused me of making the calls which I did not of course. It turned out to be her little sister that was living with us at the time...funny thing was...I was a dirty perverted SOB but she was a curious kid....go figure.

Oh ya...I called the company and even threatened legal action...the result...I paid the phone bill and blocked all future calls.

Warning, most of the phone sex companies now operate on 1-800, 1-888, etc., phone numbers and use credit cards. Gaurd your CC numbers!!

Too bad you didn't send him to military school when you had the chance. Lazy people aren't actually happy, usually, I think you should cut him off and motivate his ass.
