need advice for South - Southeast - East Asia

will be stationed there for almost a year and travel around most of the region, for work and hopefully have sometime for fun too, like Japan, Thailand, Laos, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, to name a few. I have read and heard that in Japan it's rather difficult if you don't speak the language (Tokyo). I tried once couple of years back in Tokyo, no luck.

Thailand is famous, of course, but I didn't try it last time I was there - a short trip though, for security -- robbery etc, and safety concerns - not sure if raincoats protective enough, the AIDS rate is quite high, isn't it? Never been Jakarta before, and India/Sri Lanka, safe? don't want to exhaust my hands for a year and badly need you guys advice, much appreciated.

you have nothing to worry about in Thailand. The country has a very impressive history of education about sex ed etc. If the AIDS rates are high, it's probably in the derelict areas of Bangkok that are driving them up. Have fun. Great place, great region.

I've lived in Japan and have visited all the countries you've mentioned.
Very difficult in Japan for the fact that many places prefer not to deal with "gaijin", foreigners. They don't need the potential hassle or problems. I tried many soapies and was flat out told to my face "no gaijin"....I was with Japanese friends too and I spoke pretty good Japanese.

Bangkok, no need to worry about bait and switch. Go to a go-go bar in Nana, Patpong or Soi Cowboy and pick the # you like. Same goes for the fish bowl massage parlors.

Google world sex archives or world sex forums, wiki-sex, lots of info there. Do your research on these forums, it will save you time and money.

Japan and Korea are still a bit xenophobic, or as someone already mentioned, they dont want to deal with potential language problem/hassle,

but if you're in Tokyo, try Shinjuku (Kabukicho), there are touts that will try and get your business ... all I have to say is, do not exchange or give them any money beforehand, I've read stories about tourists being scammed,

there are escort services around shinjuku area as well that caters to foreigners,
but be prepared to pay a lot in Tokyo

Korea has quite a few pay for play establishments/services,
again, the more you know the language, the further you will go in the hobby -
establishment/services range from sleazy tea shop to high end anma (massage parlor) and "business clubs",
there are also low-mid range massage parlors as well,

foreigners tend to stick to Itaewon's "hooker hill",
narrow pathway on a hill lined with girly bars ... dont mistake "homo hill"

Jakarta has quite a few establishments as well, you can always ask the taxi driver,
but to be safe, try Malioboro Club or Alexis Club ... all in one sex paradise,
hotels with spa usually have extra services (plus plus) as well

Actually, if you go to India you may want to try a place called Goa. Women are very easy in this region. You may not need to pay by the hour but just show the woman a good time. Also have nice features as they are mixed. Basically the byproduct of Portuguese colonizers raping Indian women of the region.

There are also women from Russia who are real pros in this region but they will cost you around $200 an hour. Eight times the price of a local.
