Hopefully with my face in a pussy
Skin is getting looser as I get older, so it occasionally snags and gets a nick if I'm trying to get ultra-smooth. It's something that I just feel better with. And I had an embarrasing incident a couple of years ago when I had to bail on a lady at the last minute when I got a cut, and didn't want to go with an open wound on my lip.

So I'm looking for recommendations on a decent electric, preferably a rechargeable that I can keep in the car. Ideas?

I've always used Phillips. You can get one at Walmart for well under $100 for a rechargeable, power lasts a month at least. Change the blades every couple of years for around $40 and it's brand new all over again.

I concur.
Have had my Phillips Smart-touch XL for over 15 years.
Clean it every 2 weeks, and as was suggested - change the blades.
They are available on-line.

My preference is Braun, but I own a Phillips, too.
For my skin and facial hair, I find that the Braun does a better job, especially when I shave every day.
But the Braun isn't good at removing long hairs.
The Phillips is much better at taking down a few days' of growth... quite handy since I don't shave as often because I'm working from home during pandemic.
For those times when I've let it grow for a few or several days, I use the Phillips, first, then the Braun.
I don't have that much facial hair, so it doesn't take me that long.

I’ve used these (remember this guy), Braun , Phillips over the years. Best one to my recollection Phillips cheapy I bought at Shoppers. I received a Panasonic wet / dry as gift - use that now - it’s very good buy I would not spend the dough they want for it retail.

I would go with Panasonic. I've used Braun as well but prefer the Panasonic. Don't buy some of the cheap ones mentioned above. You get what you pay for when it comes to razors. Get a good one, keep it clean, replace the blade and foil when needed and you can get 5 to 6 years out of it easy

I used a Braun for the longest time. Nothing lasts forever so I replaced it with another Braun which is not as good.

I've been using a Braun Series 7 shaver for many years. Not as close as a blade, but it doesn't pull or irritate my skin. I change the cutting head every 24 months or so, and use Braun shaver oil to lubricate it after each cleaning.

Interestingly my double-A battery operated inexpensive Braun shaver that I keep in my car shaves closer, but that may only be because I use it 8 hours or so after having already shaved with the big Braun 8am at home, if I have a late-day mpa or sp booking. (gotta be smooth for the ladies!)

I love my Phillips, I had a Braun, I had to replace the foil yearly. I clean and sharpen my Phillips once a year. I’ve had it now for 8 years

The Prez Comprehensive Shaver Guide

I have a corded Norelco rotary. I have a rechargeable Braun. I like the Schick Slim Twin for facial wet shaves. The Phillips Norelco small rechargeable One Blade is a great tool for the nether areas.
Advantages and Disadvantages. -
1. The corded Norelco will almost last forever with no battery to go bad. It will never go dead in the middle of a shave with a yearly blade change. This is my pre-escort touch up shaver. You can't cut yourself trying to do a hasty facial touch up. Bye bye DFK if you cut yourself.
2. Braun shavers are easy to find blades and parts for. I change blades yearly. The pop up trimmers for both electrics can edge sideburns but can be risky for trimming the darker regions.
3. When you want a really close shave a wet blade razor is the best. In a pinch the Slim Twin can fit into ears and nostrils. Long hairs protruding from the nose can be a mood breaker. Lather lightly then hot towel then re-lather before shaving for a best results. Finish with a few cold water slaps. A great result takes a few minutes longer.
4. The One Blade works well to put a smooooth non-hairy finish on Vice Prezident Johnson and the Cabinet. This pays BBBJ dividends and the One Blade will not scrape, scratch, or pinch sensitive skin. A good small tool for small places. You would not sand a basketball court with a one inch Dremel.

Below is a good link to find obscure shaver parts.
