Looks like only one person wants to be NDP Ontario leader.

Nobody wants the job because they realise the NDP is kaput both in Ontario and federally.

There are still those who have long memories and recall the disaster that was Bob Rae.......

That's so far in the past.
But hey, you probably don't think Alberta will ever elect an NDP government as well.
Stiles is smart, she'll do well.

The pay and benefits will be good. That's the only good thing about being the leader of the NDP.

Rae wasn't so bad. He had the misfortune of taking over just as a recession was hitting, he was leading a very inexperienced government and he entered office with very high expectations that would never be fulfilled. He and his government made a lot of mistakes, and his own caucus was a bit unruly and made life difficult for him (he was never widely accepted by the provincial NDP because he came from federal politics and was a bit of an outsider) but they weren't a disaster and I actually admire him for the Social Contract. He's one of the very few political leaders I can think of who was willing to alienate his base (the unions) because he felt he had to do what he considered the right thing rather than pandering to them. That took guts that I don't see from very many politicians on either side of the spectrum.
Yeah cause Rae days were a good thing..........

I can see two scenarios happening :

1) The Liberals will be the third party in the legislature for quite a while (who do they have that might be electable as Premier) ; OR

2) DoFo will fuck things up so badly and piss off so many people between now and the next election that the CONs will become the third party, with the NDP forming government and the Libs becoming the official opposition.

Sometimes I'm of the impression that Mr. Orifice isn't very bright, he buys into propaganda without reservation. It was David "on the take" Peterson who created a big sloppy mess for Bob Rae to attempt to clean up. He couldn't, Mulroney purposely attempted to sabotage Ontario's economy after Peterson lost the election. It was the most severe recession the GTA has ever gone through. Compared to Mulroney and Peterson, Bob Rae is a decent man and was a good Premiere.

Rae tried the progressive tac of doing cutbacks by giving people fewer hours, or 'Rae Days' instead of just cutting their salaries.
It definitely wasn't popular but he did something about the deficit during the recession he was handed.

He knew the deficit he was inheriting ahead of time but didn't seem to mention his Rae days strategy in his election platform as I remember.

Meanwhile Ford donors coincidentally bought green belt land a few months before his government rezoned it.

She is reasonably photogenic, reasonably well spoken, and apparently has unified support at this time. So that will help her. Whether the voters will trust the party to be in power is another matter. But she will get the airtime and not come across as a shrill Karen nearly as much as Horvath did in the last campaign.

That's the sole intent of 'The Build Exponential Growth in Developer Profits Faster Act".

Remember, he has to cram as much scam as much and fast as he can, because he will never be re-elected again, if he even survives this term.

So, so much scam, nastiness, bullying, steamrolling and destruction bordering on corruption.

Ford's pissing off the mayors now too.
He's giving developers a break on fees, only problem is that's how cities pay for the services new developments need.
Which leaves the cities on the hook for big bills and the province pays nothing.

Well he has a majority so no reason why he won't survive the next 3 years.
He apparently pissed everyone off in his first term and still got a majority.
