Even in the last election I was impressed with the way Jack Layton presented himself.
He was the only one out of the top three that spoke with any kind of passion. With the two larger parties desperately trying to fight for the middle ,and in the process are sounding more and more alike, does the NDP in your opinion ever have a chance to be the strongest partie and field the new PM?
Even today IMO he is the only one that manages to stand out. Certainly his stands on election reform makes sense.

jack Layton is the kind of politician who makes you sit up and take notice in the fact that he sets political stripes aside, for the good of the people who voted him into office. We really need more politicians like him!

Too bad he is an NDP'er or I would vote for him.

Are you kidding? Layton is a typical blowhard politician you can't trust what he says. As a former city councillor in Toronto making a decent salary he was living in subsidized housing. WTF?

I will give Layton this though he practices what he preaches. He's envioronmentally concious so has never owned a car. He also leads a healthy active lifestyle. And he truly cares about those who are disadvantaged. Unfortunately he's also gullible and prone to making unwise inflammatory statements. He has no leadership capabilities, he's nothing more than an activist.

oh come on Douglas he was living in subsidized housing with his equally annoying blow heart left wing wife to keep it real and close to the people :D as one woman who was a pure NDP'r tried to argue with me once, nevermind they were taking the space that could have been used by someone who really needed that subsidized housing

As impressive as Layton was in the last election and the fact that he exploited the political stupidity of Harper to get many goodies that he can run with in the next election doesn't change the fact that he and his wife pranced around Toronto City Hall as a couple of horses asses for nearly two decades.

No he has zero chance of being PM and if he does I'm moving.
