A solution, to get around the do not call list is to make the calls from a US phone number. It does not cost a lot to get a US phone number (VOIP).
Then you just start getting American telemarketers calling you.
Great solution

The Caller ID way is the best, just dont answer the bastards

Not only does this include business you have/had a relationship with, charities, newspapers, and political parties were all given exceptions. Talk about taking a hard stand huh?

This is a small excerpt from a national post article about the dncl

"Exceptions to the list include calls from charities, political parties, polling companies, newspapers selling subscriptions, and organizations with which the consumer has an existing business relationship."

Some help huh? I guess maybe Grandma can't call anymore?

Oh wait I have a relationship with her...

All of which=—except Gran—you can stop with one visit to ioptout.ca. Active link was already given above.

Then farking tell them to put you on their do not call list already.

It amazes me how many complain about the same thing over and over again but never do anything about it.

Political parties aren't covered under the Do Not Call registry, along with charities, polling firms and - get this - newspapers (because they write editorials, I suppose, about politics).

a fat lot of good this do no call list does me. All of the worst offenders are on it. The other scumbags don't care and call from some other country.

I was getting 5-6 calls a day over the past 2 weeks, would pick up, no one on the other end, then they hang up after 20 secs. Finally traced the calls back to Rogers, so called and gave 'em a frickin' blast which seems to have rectified the situation. I recommend the approach not only for the results achieved, but piece of mind gained from giving back some pain....

I changed my phone to a basic line with no options. Turned off the ringer. Only use it for outgoing calls and have my cell for everything two way. No marketers have ever called my cell.

I'm told they can't because it's illegal...

It's been good to know ya
I remember the days of party lines. Do they even still exist??? My Mom had a party line and it was actually one of our neighbors that had the other line and the way you knew who the phone was for was by the different ring tone ie... long long short vs. long short short etc... I do not recall ever having problems with telemarketers and all the bs we have now.

I've had telemarketers call my cell a number of times, but much less than the land line.

I like those ones trying to scare you that your car warranty is about to expire. I try to tie them up as long as possible...tell them I have a 1963 Pontiac and being amazed that it has had warranty this long...etc.
