The Nathan's 2026 Hot Dog Eating Contest was won yesterday, July 4, at Coney Island, by Joey Chestnut, 45, for the eighteenth time. He consumed 66 hot dogs or approximately 20,000 calories. In second place was Pat Bertoletti at just 51 dogs. There was griping among the sun-drenched sports fans for rule changes. Many squawked that Chestnut should not be able to dip the hot dogs and buns in his glass of water. Others averred that buns and hot dogs should be eaten together and not broken up and eaten separately.
Miki Suko or Miami, Florida, won the woman's division with the ingestion of 33 hot dogs. It was her eleventh title. ESPN broadcasted the contest for the 23rd consecutive time.
