Mycoplasma STD?

I went to a specialist for an unrelated condition. He found that I had a Mycoplasma infection. I can't get a hold of his holiness since he's atop dr. in Toronto and you know how that goes. My family doctor confirmed it and said that it is a STD.

Here's my question since Mycoplasma has such limited literature:

- Is Mycoplasma only transmitted via STD? Or are there other ways? I have never had sex in my life without a condom and I don't allow BBBJ or even light kissing. I am a germ phobe and the less bodily contact the better.

- Anyone have personal experience with this? My doc. said it's a bitch to get rid of.

My main issue is how I got this via STD. The last time I had sex was 2 years ago and I don't even shake hands with people because I am scared of catching something and here we are with an STD????

BTW it's Mycoplasma Genatalia (???) not the other one found in saliva droplets. This one is only found in the uterine lining of males and mostly females. The more I read on this the more confused I get.

No need to understand the whole enchilada, a dose of vibramycin shoudl clear it up. Pretty rare STF though... Mycoplasma are a very small bacteria without a cell wall. As well as in your dick, they are found in the respiratory tract and can cause pnuemonia.

The type you have Mycoplasma Genatalium can take hold in your urethra and a womens entire genital tract. You can only get it through contact with your genitals. It can go undetected for a long time but usually shows itself as an irritation of your urethra. Kind of like gonnoreha. They call it non-gonococcal urethritis.

Your doctor will prescribe a broad spectrum antibiotic
like vibramycin. TAKE IT ALL. Do not miss a dose. This is a nasty bug and you don't want to make history and develop an antibiotic resistant strain!

Now go to sleep and forget all about it!

And call the chick you banged two years ago and tell her about it!
I did she doesn't have it. No one I had sex with has it (at least in the last 5 years) and as I stated I never had BB sex in my life. Anyways this is going to be a bitch to take care of. 2 separate month long attacks with meds didn't eradicate it . It's damn depressing. I'm more concerned on how I contacted it since I juts can't figure it out. The only other thing I can think of is that there is some other way to get it other than sex.

Actually it was an unrelated DNA test that found it. The lab tech. did additional tests by accident/design (never asked for this test) and found it I did a second one that confirmed it. It is M. genitalium strain BTW that from what I know is transmitted sexually only and that's where my problem arises. How? I haven't had penis/vaginal contact in a long time and when I did it was with protection. My doc said the only way to get this strain is via vaginal contact so how could this happen?

Just goes to show you that blood work doesn't pick it up all. Since I had blood work in 2006 and haven't had sex since.

He'd say the same thing about most other STDs, but it's not true in ANY case. Maybe you shook someone's hand or used a contaminated door handle and then had a wank. Maybe you don't know how to use condoms correctly. Maybe you should get a second opinion (I definitely would if he's making statements like that).

To my knowledge, males do not have uterine linings, because none have a uterus. Persons who are 'mostly female' generally do not uteri٭, either.

*uteruses is also a correct plural.

I suspect the word wanted is: Urethral.
