Where are you going in Thailand? Three big spots in Bangkok - Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza, and Patpong. They are condensed sex trade zones, Cowboy and Patpong are streets, Nana a sort of square. They are easily accessible, right in the middle of urban Bangkok, but if you aren't staying near them it can be a pain in the ass to get to them. Google them before you go and if possible stay on Sukhumvit so you are close to Nana and Cowboy.Peter, where exactly can I find this scenario.....I'm headed to Vietnam and Thailand on work...so I'll have colleagues with me....not much time to explore....just enough time to make a commando raid....if you know what i mean

My predicament is that I have tight schedule and little time to explore. Hence the need for an exact location. I would hate to come back without tasting the local delicacies, so to speak!

The scenario is that you have an elderly cousin who retired and now lives in Bangkok, and there is no way you are going all that way and not seeing him. So you are sure your travelling companions will understand that you need to break free from them for (a half a day, an evening, whatever) to see your cousin, whom you might never see again if you don't take advantage of your business trip to Bangkok to drop in and spend some time with him. Its awful that you have to miss the afternoon's meetings, "...but surely you guys understand how rare an opportunity it is for me to see my cousin....."
By the way on Soi Cowboy (soi means lane or street), I found that The Dollhouse had the best selection of girl next door type ladies. 500 baht or so for a couple hours, maybe 1000 baht for overnight. There is a Citadines Hotel on Sukhumvit 23 (maybe 4 blocks from Soi Cowboy) that is clean, modern, and has reasonable rates. There is ZERO stigma with a white guy taking a Thal girl half his age into the hotel. Enjoy!
Wow, I know you know your finances CG, but I don't think you are going to get a girl that cheap in Bangkok anymore. Even in Soi 6 in Pattaya you are looking at around 1k Baht for a short time and 2k Baht for overnight plus bar fine at your abode from standard bars. Also, way more if from clubs, or places on walking st. Bangkok is way more expensive than Pattaya. I lived in Pattaya for a year in 2011/12.
Yeah....if you are really tight for time...and likely can't have a overnight, you may just want to pop into a massage place....they are all full service...I went to addicts, soi 21 and sukhumivit i think...but there is awhile bunch right there and a high end mall The Emporium is right there if you need an excuse
And if really, really pressed for time...I really can recommend Dr Bjs.. 700 baht and 15 mins or so ...depends on you of course...and you are quite happy...the girls work at a bj salon for a reason...
As for post about price..Yeah way off for bangkok....for a go go dancer.....you could be looking at 4000 baht...even a cheap short time I would expect to pay 2000-2500....now maybe cheaper for a freelancer but I would recommend that for a number of reasons

im going to bangkok next week for about 5 days and i think i will spend at least 1 in pattaya. do you have any recommendations on where to stay? im looking at hotels now but the addresses mean nothing to me because i have never been there. i dont need to go cheap but i wont be staying at the top hotels either, all i need is a/c and a hotel that will allow me to bring a "friend" or 2 home with me at night time (i hear that some are not friendly towards this). does anyone have any thoughts on this? id really appreciate it...both in bangkok and pattaya.

Need a Thai expert for some advice... Retiring doctor looking to spend one to two months in Thailand next winter. What month is best? Phuket or Pattaya? Looking for luxury rental with cook for about $2-3000 a month. Wife will be joing me for several weeks........... All your suggestions will be appreciated!
Pattaya is mostly sleeze, which is why I love it, but the beaches aren't real nice. Phuket has much nicer beaches with less sleeze but still some action. As for a cook, I don't know why you would bother as there is food absolutely everywhere, from high end restos, to roadside restos where two people can feast for 5$, to food carts all over the streets. However I usually stay where the action is so food is usually close by, a high end apartment might be more remote. My guess is a cook would be anywhere from 4-600$ a month, just a guess. I was looking at monthly rentals when I was there earlier this year and 1000$ a month can get you a brand new condo with pool and the works, very nice, so 2 grand a month should get you a cook and very nice accomodations.
Remember your attire will be shorts, light shirt and sandals and will be outside most of the time so popping into a restaurant is very easy, all the thai people do is cook and eat. Can't answer your question on high end rentals but there is lots of them. Google pattaya or Phuket apartment rentals.
You could try staying on ko samui or ko phi phi for beautiful scenery, without the in your face sleeze, although I've never been to either. Jomtien beach near pattaya is fairly nice also, about ten minutes from pats.
For the record I've been to TL about 9 times, mostly pattaya.:eyebrows: Best months are jan, feb, imo.
It's funny to drive or walk past a gogo bar and see these scantily clad beautiful girls stuffing their faces, always a few out front.
Walking the small lane way up to Dr. BJ's is a trip. I couldn't bring myself to go in. Just too conspicuous. So I went back to Nana and picked up a ladyboy. Stunner.
Just got back from Bangkok. Highly recommend Galleria 10, on soi 10. Very quiet soi, and nights are very peaceful. Centrally located, and lots of amenities within 15 minutes walking distance. Really comfy beds and clean & modern faciliities too. At $60 a night, great value.

Just arrived back after a week in LOS. 3 days each in Pattaya and Bangkok. Quality has hit the rock bottom in both places, most girls were below 5 in my eyes. 500 baht ST in Pattaya, 1000-1500 in Bangkok. Poor quality indies in Thermae and Bier Garden. Very low quality in Baccara this time. Protests have spoiled the party big time.

Yeah, generally Thermae and Bier Garden have always been bottom of the barrel for me. Wasn't impressed by Baccara/Annies either, however Rainbow 2 & 4 was fantastic. Nataree had quite a few cuties too.

I generally go to walking street only once per trip, and I stay somewhere around Big C as a rule. This should be an interesting trip for sure, I am taking a buddy there for the first time. He is newly divorced and has never been outside of North America...should be a laugh.
