Everyone is different obviously, but let your symptoms be your guide, as well as your drs advice.
Mine said no action for a week, with partner or solo. So exactly 168hours later, i had to do a solo test run. Worked ok, a bit of discomfort. A couple days later tried the real thing- gently and with her doing most of the work. That was ok too. So tried again, a bit more vigorously 2days later- started to really hurt, so much i couldnt finish - so now i had vasectomy pain plus the worst case of blue balls as well!!
For me i hurt for weeks. I had the "gentle" or no scalpel technique. No bruisi g was obvious at all, but it took a long time to settle. So from my experience, you are going to need to go slow, no matter what. And as others have said, even if you think you feel ok, do nothing for the first 2-3 days. I know a guy who felt great, so he decided to do some light yard work for a few hours the day after, he paid for it with a sack swelled up like a coiple grapefruits and a week off work.
