I decided to start a new thread announcing plans for next year's visit to MWV Margarita Island. Details at http://www.mywildvacation.com/
This year's trip was a great success, and enjoyed by us all. So now I'm starting plans to put together next year's trip. Here are testimonials from three of our party, which were posted on the separate trip report:
I know that we all had an incredible week, which exceded the expectations of my new friends. Now you know that everything I told you before-hand was exactly the way it was, and that I wasn't over-selling the experience in any way. Organizing the trip was a lot of work, but great fun.
I am organizing "Canada Week 2008" for next January (dates will be finalized when AirTransat set their schedules, but anticipate approx Jan 16-23rd, 2008). Although I anticipate most participants will be from the Toronto area, or Montreal, the trip is not limited to Canadians, but (like this year) we will have some honarary Canadians (from the US?) - just be Canadian at heart!. The convenient AirTransat flights run direct Toronto - Porlamar, so those from the US will probably find it easier to come to Toronto the night before and fly out with the group (flying there via Caracas can be a nightmare).
But I'm not going through months of uncertain numbers, only to get let down at the end. 5 of us are already committed to returning next year, which means there will probably be only 4 or 5 new spots available. One of this year's group already has his friend committed to join us. So having 6 already committed means that we are already guaranteed an "exclusive use" week. If you want to be part of next year's trip please PM me ASAP. I will ONLY take "100% definite" commitments, and will want that backed up by a US$600 deposit before April 30th, 2007 (mainly to ensure that you're serious). First come, First CUM! Deposits are non-refundable but are transferable to another new interested party if you subsequently find you cannot go.
If there is an enormous interest I could look into making it 2 weeks of 9 each week. So now it's up to you.
This last trip we lost out on being able to add the adjoining villa to our festivities because of lack of commitments. There was always a lot of interest, but most didn't convert into bookings. So I'm starting earlier, and getting commitments earlier, for next year. I will also need to finalize costs, but this will also be based upon the total number who want to go, but assume something around US$2,500. Once I know the numbers and costs I can start getting together some of my fun surprises, games, awards etc. It also helps that we get together before the trip so we all get to know each other. I have found that the guys who meet down there become very good friends back here.
Here are some of the details of what to expect:
I have found that the girls at the Villa are always great, but it is the interaction with the other "guests" that can either make or break the vacation.
COST: The Villa quotes a week at US$2,550, plus the airfare (usually Air Transat, direct from Toronto to Porlamar airport) of about $850 (including taxes). You can spend as much or as little as you want while down there, although I recommend about US$500/1,000 for the week (excursions, casino, dinners out, shopping etc.!). Budget a total of about C$4,500 for the week. INCLUDED: All Accommodation, all meals, all local drinks (beer, wine, tequila!), and the 24/7 company of a girl of your choice. You may continue to stay with the same girl or may change to another available girl each day. You are also allowed 1 day (and night!) with 2 girls - the "2fer".
The Villa has a central dining area, which on many evenings can erupt into an impromptu party. Dancing and singing (always). Stripping on the tables etc. Sometimes this area also doubles as the cinema, where they show movies or sporting events. There is also a large swimming pool and jacuzzi.
They will arrange for transport to pick us up and take us back to the airport, and there is generally transport available throughout the week, or can easily be arranged. In any event cabs are very cheap, with most destinations $10.
The villa can generally look after your exchange needs - US$ into Bolivars.
Also included is a day's catamaran trip from Porlamar to Coche Island - not to be missed. And a trip to La Restinga Mangrove reserve.
Other trips (at an extra cost) include an all-day Jeep Safari tour of the island (such fun), horseback riding, fishing, golf, and in the evenings the Casino, bowling, go-karting, dancing etc. Or you can just relax by the pool, or go to the beach, or take your girl to Sembil shopping centre (a very modern, large mall).
WHAT IS THERE: The "Villa" is located in Playa El Agua in Margarita Island (off the coast of Venezuela). It is located twenty feet from the beach. The villa is secured and guarded, and only registered guests are permitted entry. The villa has about 6 separate king size rooms, each air-conditioned, with en-suite bathroom, and usually some seating area, and the villa next door has another 4 rooms. The villa also accomodates the girls, and the owners try to maintain a 2 to 1 ratio of girls to guests to allow for choice, changing, and also to allow for "2fer" days.
Laundry is also provided (just remember to put it ready for collection).
THE GIRLS: Some of the girls can be seen on the "Profiles" on the site, although the girls that will actually be there at the time of our visit may include only few of these girls, and most likely mainly "new" girls, not yet featured in the Profiles. Most would be rated 7, 8 or 9's. I would guess that most of the girls are between 20 and 27, and are also there to have a good time. All speak Spanish, but most speak only a little English (but that's also part of its charm). Take your dictionary or your Franklin! I think it is a requirement that the girls know the words to every Spanish song every recorded, and their bodies are not allowed to stop dancing until they hit the bed (LOL!)!
Guests are generally between 30-60 (although I'm older than that!!) and I know that they have had guests in their 80's!
I'm sure that there will be detractors, or competitors, or those that think of cheaper ways to achieve such a vacation. But please save your efforts. This is purely looking for colleagues to join us.
I invite anyone who has been to the MWV villa in Margarita to post their comments or experiences (positive or negative) to give potential guests a rounded idea of what to expect. I am not acting as an Agent for MWV, but have been there so often, and have always enjoyed my stays that I'd like to see more TERBites join me.
So if you want to join us next year, commit early.

Diamond D said:Thanks again Eatdipus for not only planning and organizing, but for taking one for the team every time out to get the fun going!! You are a true Canadian and your country thanks you!
rubmeister100 said:Indeed, ERex is da man. A charming, effusive all around decent chap without which this trip could not have happened.
Although I thanked you personally, I want to say so publicly that your credibility is beyond reproach.
Your willingness to have tequila shots sucked out your belly button by the girls is really nothing special... but salt lick on you dick!
dlmguy said:yea - I'm definetly in for next year - I was thinking what the advantage is in having more than 6 people, but, I gotta say the trip was all I hoped for and I can honestly say " I had the time of my life!" ... Thanks for everything
