Mussels, are they bad for your health?

I know several guys that go to buffets and eat loads of steamed mussels. I know another guy that tells me to stay away from them because they are dug up in brackish waters that are close to maritime cities that dump their sewage into the ocean. The mussels feed off the sewage and get big and plump.

I don't fell well. I just barfed!

It was maybe 6-8 years ago now, but several people died from eating mussels. I never eat snails or mussels.

i know a couple of seafood places that if they see me enter on a specials day they run out of mussels quickly. I can sit down to a fed of 90+ and I'm doing just fine thank you. If it's on a beach, even better.

between the mercury in the tuna. fertilizer in the salmon and buffet of chemicals in the shell fish, I'm doing just fine and I keep a close watch on my inner works, honestly.

Anyone who loves salmon better hurry because 10 million of them didn't show up for harvest time on the Fraser River. The price is going to hit the roof.

I kinda try and cut back some to maybe 30-40, the good ones are bigger you know, with a little hot sauce; flashback to N'Oleans, stand up bar,$1 each, beer and some good southern jazz. Mmmmm!!

That's not really true. Even if it were you can put shellfish from those sort of areas through depuration after which they are perfectly safe to eat.

Other than that it is a matter of ascetics, think of all the unappetizing stuff fish, lobsters and crabs eat before we eat them!

If this is true, only places that advertise "wild salmon" will be affected. Because, aren't a majority of places using "farmed" salmon? But I guess a shortage in "wild" salmon will still influence the price of the other.

Their omnivores, they'll eat anything, ANYTHING, reference Deadwood and Criminal minds. Their actually are clean animals but do like a day at the spas now and then.

Forget the TV shows. How about Pickton out west? He was the inspiration for that Criminal Minds episode.
