Finally someone with a sense of humour. Add Canadian to the list and call it a wash...
It may be a joke but it's definitely not a very good one. The Muslim is definitely a modification to the original joke. And not a very good one I might add.
For the OP's benefit, what makes the (original) joke is that the Muslim is doing something that is stereotypically Muslim (e.g., the calling the farmer an Infidel part). But the "speak English" part is totally irrelevant to Muslims, which is what makes this "joke" fall down.

HOF..... the joke was tasteless. Admit it. Its one thing to tell it to some buddies who know you (although still tasteless), but it hits a whole new level posting on a TO board where some of the members may in fact be Muslim, and may in fact get offended.
Yes, I have in fact told my share of tasteless jokes in my time. I hope I used better judgement on where I've told them.

I knew this was going to happen, it was bound to offend some people. Some are ok with it, some aren't, so to avoid the backlash, best left unsaid. I used to laugh at these type of jokes years ago, no more, it's a whole new world we live in today.
Admit what that it's a joke? Fine, It's a joke. If you don't like don't read it that is your choice. Some are reading way too much into this and inferring way too much as well. I tell you what if it offends you so much just put my heritage and religion in Scot, French and Catholic. Are we done whinning yet?

You ever speak to a Muslim guy, I mean really REALLY speak to one and ask him what he thinks about Christians and Jews. When you ask him about the Jews I sugest you move back 10 feet.
