You should know better than to infer that I in any way resemble a "closed minded dink". I don't look at all like that ugly dude in your mirror.:D

I do agree with you on the Tony R. thing, that is just weird what is going on.

I've said many times, we don't have a justice system, its a legal system.

Theres a line somewhere about " First we go for the......". A certain profession springs to mind but in deference to DQ's vocation I shall not mention it.
Ugly dude?...hey i turned down a front cover pic on GQ magazine, because they would,t fly me down to the photo shoot in a private jet....oops my tongue is stuck to my cheek ..lol.........

What business is that???? Not butter cookies I hope, that just clogs the mind and creates more euroweenies and their farkin regulations .

They are too soft with the sentencing and multitudes of appeals in the US as well.

We pay the bloody taxes, the laws should protect those of us who don't roam the streets stabbing people and severely punish those who do.

Have you converted to Islam?

Your "justice system" would fit right with the Taliban. Stonings and mutilations, beheadings and rape.

[What I want is a reasonable justice system.]

There is NO Justice System in Canada!
It is a LEGAL System - designed to enrich the participating lawyers!

Just listen to them squawk when the Feds want to change anything!

As for the panhandlers - well, this is Canada - they have their legal rights to piss on the pavement and harass everyone and repulse the tourists! They are like the Canada geese - the more they are fed the more their numbers grow and multiply! Don't expect the Miller 'Taliban' at City Hall to do anything about it! They already throw $millions at the problem....and want MORE taxes!
I happen to like Canada Geese.

But other than that, I agree with you.....

Homeless is an INDUSTRY in Toronto and a lot of people are making a damn good living at it. Why would they possibly want to change that.

That said, there are 2 kinds of homeless in Toronto. Those who are truly mentally or physically unable to support themselves. And to them, I have no qualms about giving them shelter and support.

Then there are the vast number of homeless who choose to live that lifestyle for whatever reason. They live on the fringes and are quite happy to do so.

Chris Gardiner, the guy who lived under the ramp on the Gardiner Expressway until last year when they had to kick him out because they were fixing the Gardiner. Of course, he thought it was his "right" to live under the Gardiner regardless of the fact that the expressway needed fixing to enable the rest of us who pay taxes to get to work.

The guy was quite articulate, could read and write, and was physically fit for work. It's scumbags like him and his OCAP anarchist buddies that I can't stand.

Of course they did, these are the "supportive parents" that seemed to be alright with having her live on the street and beg.
Wondering how do you stop a young person from doing that if that is what they are intent on doing??

It's funny how they don't report on the fact that most of the panhandling youth on the streets of TO not only come from stable households but money as well. Begging is easier than getting a real job.

Yup and now they are acting like they care. lol

Are there less crime in the US? They have what you would call a proper punishment system, death penalty and all. But it seems to me that there are more violent crime there.
The reasons should be obvious.

Empower the police to beat the crap out of them whenever they catch them begging.

A more effective solution would be to fine those that give them money. You dry up the revenue stream and the beggars would disappear very quickly.

That is capitalism in a nutshell: criminalize the poor and disadvantaged, and someone who helps them.

It is a crime to be poor or metally sick. Cut off welfare payments so they will have to beg, steal or commit suicide. That was the way of Harris. Remember Kimberly Rogers?
