Continuing the trend for phone advice here...

Are there any GSM phones that take multiple SIM cards, and therefore have multiple, separate numbers?

The idea would be to have two different numbers associated with the phone. One tied to a normal contract-style plan with a well known number and caller ID. The other would be a prepaid SIM that was purchased over the counter.

The goal would be to be able to receive and place calls with both numbers, and, when receiving a call, to know which number was ringing.

As well and very importantly of the two only the Samsung D880 Duos (2nd link) allows you to use one of the two North American GSM Bands (1900mhz) and only with one of the two SIM Cards so unless they come out with a North American version of these phones or you plan on using a North American SIM/Account (from Fido, Rogers, AT&T, or T-Mobile) in one of the slots and keep your European, Asian, or African account active and racking up roaming usage/fees in the other they are next to useless to be used in this country or the USA.
I have heard of little fake SIM Cards with a flat-wire attached that has 2 slots for 2 seperate SIMs and works with almost any phone but I have never seen them in real life and they require you to do some surgery on your SIM Card and I believe only one can work at a time.
