Guys, I'm trying to make my own mini-movie by using movie maker and its not going well. I dont find it user-friendly at all :(
I'm trying to add music and credits to the clip and its not working.

Does anyone know a good user-friendly movie program?????

Muvee's templates could be hindering if you are more than just a beginner and want more control other than just throwing in the clips, pics, choose music, choose style, and let the software to jam it all out for you.

I don't have Power Director , may be you ought to dl their trial version and try that out..

There is another called , Vegas ( a US software now owned by SONY ) and it is quite user friendly and straight forward, but is more towards the pro-sumer level.
Vegas has been around for a while , so you should be able to locate an older version on the net, or dl their current trail version.

Final Cut Pro is a prosumer non linear editing system that you'll be paying a bundle for if you just want to make a simple little movie. Plus, it's only available on Macs. It's a bit of overkill. I'd go with Muvee.

I might just have to buy a Mac! Just got a hd video camera for some small no budget films i wanna make and play around with. And need software to play around with. also in the market for a computer or two. I do need a UMPC for work....but may have to get a mac for video fun too.

Any mac recommendations? (i know nothing about macs, been computing with pc's since the Mark Vacuum tubes!) :D

Depends on how much you want to spend...... imcas are solid work stations. If you want a professionsla editing station you will be using for a few years the new quad processor xenons rock. I was fooling around with one or two at WWDC06 and it was kick ass with Final Cut.
The exact same machine from Dell with the same size drives processor and graphics card was 500 dollars more.

Vegas

Vegas is almost as difficult to use as Final Cut. They are both semi-professional level software. Unless you buy their tutorial and spend 60+ hour learning it, you'll likely not get very far.

For the simple cuts, fades, titles, music and voice background, Power Director is more than adequate and a hell of a lot easier to use.

I've used Vegas, Power Director, Movie Maker and Muvee.

I'm gonna go back to moviemaker and try to figure it out.
All I'm trying to do is make a 2 minute clip with music and some credits <sigh>
