It's that time of year again! Last year I participated in Movember, and it was an itchy and rewarding experience. Canada has some of the highest participation rates in the world.

For the guys, how many of you are participating this year? And what kind of 'stache are you planning to grow?

For the ladies, how do you feel about your SO or clients participating in it? Surveying my family and friends, most of the ladies hate the 'stache on their men (because it's scratchy/itchy/tickles) but put up with it for the month to support the cause.

I always donate... but never grow the stash...

Disclaimer: My lady friends appreciate my clean shaven baby smooth face, against their clean shaven (or waxed/ or lasered) baby smooth nether regions during DATY! ;) :eyebrows: :thumb:

I like movember SO LONG AS the men that grow moustaches raise money or donate to prostate cancer research. Prostate cancer has affected my family many times and I can tell ya that the BIGGEST support comes from the donations... Donations towards research is what saves lives, not just growing moustaches to 'show' support only. Everyone can afford to to donate whether or not its only a toonie, it helps!

Doctors, drug companies, testing labs, the executives of the Movember movement.. all to do NO GOOD. You are all SUCKERS. Of the 29M raised in 2010 I see almost 6M in questionable expenses. Spend the money on hookers, it is much better spent.

There was a Seinfeld episode where he dated a gal who implied a 3sum with her girlfriend. Seinfeld couldn't go through with it, claiming he'd have to grow a moustache as an 'orgy' kind of guy.

And the $23 million went towards prostate, etc. cancer research or causes. Better than nothing. I think more guys do it for awareness. Guys don't complain enough, yet we need attention to our causes too.

Prostate cancer is not worth worrying about. Most of the fatalities occur at late stages in life. In the meantime, a lot of unnecessary surgury that can render you impotent, incontinent or dead occurs. Live your life... we will all die someday. Very few young people die of prostate cancer.

So you have information that the Movember executives are paid? Interesting. I hope you don't get prostate cancer, and the chances are good, because I'll will guarantee you'll change you tune. Oh, I forgot you're under 50, you're immortal. What are some of those questionable expenses?

Spoken like someone under 50 and probably never watched anyone close die of cancer. How many prostate surgeries are unnecessary?

If survival from cancers has increased by 50%+ in the last 20 years, it isn't because of life style and nutrition. The research and treatment are clearly doing something.

I may be under 50, but don't plan on any examination of my prostate unless it shows symptoms. A friend of mine is a Doc and is in his 50's and does not do any of that stuff. He says if you live to an old age, chances are you will have prostate cancer, chances it will be what kills you is pretty slim.

I know 2 people who have had prostates removed and it had a huge negative effect on their vitality. No thanks.. if I die, then it is my time.

The U.S. Preventative Services Task Force last year issued a draft recommendation against screening men of all ages for prostate-specific antigen (PSA).

I noticed you choose to speak of the unnecessary surgery in past tense, nice. The treatment of prostate cancer has changed in leaps and bound over recent years to the point where the standard surgical procedure, one of which you outlined, of only 5 years ago is no longer the default treatment. You're living in the past in your knowledge.

Now back to the rest of your rant, how much are the executives of the Movember campaign paid?
