I found it funny how they were offended over Buble's skimpy dancers but not the huge inflatable mounties being pushed around the stage.

I thought their skirts were way too long and they wore those 14 gauge multi-layer underpants that run halfway down to their knees (same as women tennis players). I can remember when female tennis players wore transparent panties that barely covered their bums.

Interesting, from the memo it was more about stereotyping women than the uniform per se. That however, may well be a p.c. smokescreen.

As I recall the R.C.M.P. has copyright protection on their Uniforms, beyond the normal "impersonation" criminal charges, hence you will notice that even in movies there is always something slightly wrong.

In reality some things should NOT be tampered with. Maybe I am showing my age but the RCMP is a Canadian icon and should not be made fun of.

Who of does not swell with pride when we see the RCMP in their full ceremonial uniform at an event. Its a uniform known around the world like the English "Bobbie" or the US Marine.

Somes things need to remain untouched.

Maybe if the Mounties want to be viewed with pride they should clean up their act. I find their political interference, obstructionist behavior, culture of secrecy, and lack of accountability tarnishes their uniform far more than the closing ceremonies of the Olympics.

IIRC, the Mounties sold their image to Disney, or something like that.

edit: correction. it was licensing agreement which expired about 10 yrs ago.
