Motorcycle Storage Question?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of places that I can store my bike this winter? At my condo there were three bikes stolen this year from the underground, so I think I will put mine somewhere safe for storage this winter. Ideally someplace in the west end of Toronto, not Mississauga hopefully. If they do the prep for storage, even better. Thanks!

Here ya go .... very reputable guy. I pulled his ad off a motorcycle website.

As every year we are offering heated storage. We have no limits as to numbers we will simply lease more space nobody stores more bikes per year than we do, its not a sideline to make a few extra bucks its a well thought out service. Our rate is $250 for Oct 1 to May 1 including winterize w/synthetic oil. Free pick up and delivery by enclosed trailer. We do all our pick ups in the evenings when people are home. 20% discount on our already low labour rates for storage bikes.
NEW this year we are offering an opportunity for our customers to come to our facility and rent shop space by the hour to work on your own machine while in storage. You will have a lift table, tools, a clean well lit heated shop.

I don't know of anything specific, but I do know that after my grandfather passed away and there was no longer a car (grandma didn't drive) she used to rent out her garage for the winter to some guy so he could store his Porche over the winter. Talk to family/friends... maybe someone has an empty garage they could rent to you.

I am looking for heated and alarmed/insured storage. Also would need to have power to hook up my Battery Tender too.
You don't need power in the storage spot for that. Just take out your battery (which you should anyway), take it home and hook it up to your Battery Tender in your basement, making sure that the battery is off the floor.

That would be best, and if it has a newer sealed maintenance-free battery, it doesn't need to be off the ground, as they don't discharge into the ground like the old style ones. It does need to be hooked up to a battery tender or Optimate though. Don't use a "smart" charger from Canadian Tire though. They drop the volts once they hit full charge, but they don't lower the amps, which can still damage your motorcycle battery. Also under 1 amp is optimal for maintaining the battery during storage. Unless you have a lead hooked to your battery, and you want to keep the battery in the bike, take it out as suggested.
In terms of storage in the west end, my choice would be (and I am going to store one of my bikes with them next week) is Parker Bros. on Kipling. I have dealt with them for a number of years, and they are the most knowledgeable shop I know of in the GTA. They are a KTM dealer, and the guys there all ride street and offroad, and I think most of them race too. They have a few packages, and their basic package is $249 plus HST for winterizing the bike, maintaining the battery, and storage until Apr. 1st. There is a package up from that which includes oil and filter change, and I think it's $349? The reason I am storing a bike with them, is that they don't rent out an old barn or something and throw their bikes in there for the winter, like a lot of places do. They have a heated, video monitored and alarmed storage place, and they will store it until April. Another place in the west end is Rider's Choice. I think it's $250 plus HST for their package, and they store it until March 1. Wildside is also storing bikes too. I don't know any details about price though. That's all I can think of in the west end, best of luck.

Thank you for all the suggestions everyone. I think I will call Parker Bros. to find out more information. It sounds like what I am looking for, as I want to just drop my bike off and not have to worry about doing any other prep.

It's actually the temperature swings that cause condensation and the resulting corrosion. A steady temperature avoids this. You only get a steady temperature with heated storage.

Thanks again to everyone. I am storing my bike with Parker Bros. Powersports. The location is convenient, price is fair, and I just have to drop it off, and pick it up in April.

April? The season will be half over by then! ;)
Hopefully you are correct and the weather will be nicer before that point! They said I can pick it up earlier if I want, and I if I pick up early, I will get a gift certificate too. Hopefully I will be picking it up in early March.
