But thats for owning rifles Sheik, not handguns.
Granted rifles can still kill but are much harder to conceal

Handguns throughout Europe are strictly 'Verboten'

What the Canadian govt neds to do is lock these little shits up that running around with guns shooting people. Its that simple!!

And I mean automatic 10 year prison term, no if, ands or buts

Or ship them back to kingston with a toe tag.:)

So weaker laws now would drive down the shootings (Like in the 50s).

I don't think laws are going to make much of a difference, stronger or even weaker. Its how these younger people feel about life that could make a big difference.

Even today the females don't do many of the shootings. Its likely a male.

Really, people should study country's that have many guns and few shootings and try to find out why that is. Seems it could be a way to stop these senseless shootings.

Too bad theres no talk of limiting the number of kids people can have-like in China. Too many people have kids then expect somebody else to raise them and teach them how to behave. Maybe those other country's have strong family's that keep a eye on each other ? I don't know.

Canada has had one of the lowest birth rate in the world for decades.

As for your comments about the 50's you can't really compare the urban environment (where the majority of the gun violence) to the way it was 1/2 a century ago.

I believe that handgun bans have been effective in all the countries where
they are in effect, except in the US. Most european countries have few handguns in private hands.
With the easy access to handguns from the US, the ban is much less effective in Canada than in Europe,
but I believe there would be many more handguns in Canada, if they were not banned.

It seems that all police chiefs repeatedly call for stricter bans on guns.
Last time I checked, handguns aren't banned in Canada, just restricted. Use the correct terminology. IMHO, when you live next to the US with the unprotected border we have, the number of handguns in Canada wouldn't change even if they were banned. I'm glad Miller isn't my mayor.

Miller needs to be voted out next election.
His liberal free spending has caused a huge deficit in Toronto, and he makes stupid remarks like "lets ban handguns or ban target ranges".

Duh....like thats gonna solve our crime problem

But right now it seems like the "bad guys" don't fight back too much once they commit a crime. They run away, even turn them selfs in to the police later on sometimes.

If a 10 year prison term was passed for crimes using a gun, would the "bad guys" fight back more before getting caught?

There could be more police chases, guys shooting back at the police, maybe taking hostages--everything we got going on here in the USA :p

But dam 3 people getting killed in Toronto this last week, something should be done but what ?
