Shatkins are on no hot seat. They signed extensions last year. And the Jays are in a playoff position despite playing below their potential.
What are they supposed to do when pitchers can't find the strike zone and the batters are swinging at pitches 8 inches outside or up at their eyeballs? Vladdy, their biggest weapon, is not playing close to last year's level.
I don't think it has anything to do with how they're being deployed or the manager's strategy.

They play in a country club atmosphere, it's not working with montoyo. The inmates can only run the asylum for so long. When you're down 10-1 and pull out the hr jacket like you've just won the world series, that's a culture problem.

Jays starting pitching and middle relief is their problem thus far. Not much Montoyo can do about that I'm afraid.
I'm not a fan of the Jacket and carts either. Or the forearm bashing that the Yankees do.
But this is a different era and I guess that just comes with the territory.
Sometimes I see the Jays and think maybe they spend to much time grooming themselves in front of the mirror and not enough time worrying about opposing pitchers,lol. But their team hitting stats are excellent. They're third overall in team batting average. First in OPS. Fifth in runs scored. So shows you what I know.

This is all part of becoming a mature team that wants to win.
This team made huge strides last year and most of them were playing well above their average year.
This year they have come down a notch and are realizing that winning is not as easy as it appeared to be last season.
I predicted this year that they would finish at or around .500.

Middle relief and starting pitching - enough said. Today they ran into a hot pitcher they haven't seen.
