GSP/Sanchez would be great BUT it is entirely unfathomable that because he won the UF reality series this year MATT SERRA gets a shot at GSP before anyone else. Ridiculous.
matt hughes would destroy matt serra so you can figure out my prediction for gsp vs. serra. they could put gsp vs. serra on a spike show cause fans are gonna bitch about another 1 minute title fight.

Heard on the grapevine about a ppv (UFC 68/69?) in Montreal in the spring that would feature this fight. Sort of a easy homecoming for GSP. Wouldn't this also be the time of a Crocop debut? Methinks.

There's a UFC in Montreal around April or May.....

I believe GSP will have his re-match against Matt Hughes in that event....

As for Crocop in the UFC....There's been no word on him being in the UFC (or not being in it) since the initial article on Sherdog.
Guess we're just going to have to wait and see....

GSP must fight (according to Dana White and the UF series) Matt Serra before anyone else. Are they going to change this? Maybe. But GSP/Serra in Montreal would be the "easy" homecoming I refer too. All us GSP fans can see him kick the crap out of Serra back in Canada before he faces any real challenge like a Hughes rematch. Why would he fight Hughes right away? In the UFC you have to reclimb the ladder when you lose don't you?

crocop is a beast. he goes through opponents like a hot knife through butter.it'd be good to see him in UFC . at least we'd see more of his fights.

"left leg hospital , right leg cemetary" wasn't a boast.I've seen some of his knockouts. those guys don't know where the fuck they are after the fight.

UFC , PRIDE , its all good . I'm just glad to see more of this these days .

MMA here to stay , sorry to all the hardcore boxing fans.
the sweet science is a dying sport.
I couldn't tell you the last time I looked forward to a boxing match.

I think most people would agree that the MMA fights are way more exciting than boxing.

Well....

No official word on Crocop just yet.....

Though maybe the UFC will announce his signing on the 30th during their next PPV (Tito vs Chuck).....
Would be pretty dramatic....
And if Tim Sylvia is there.....You might be able to see him shit his pants live.....:D

Though the UFC did sign Quinton "Rampage" Jackson....
The former Pride fighter who demolished the Iceman....Chuck couldn't even finish the fight...His corner threw in the towel....

I'm starting to wonder how legit the rumours of Crocop with UFC is. In any case, Rampage is a great signing - charismatic, funny as hell and a damn good fighter who's a bad matchup for every LHW other than Silva and Shogun. He became a born again Christian after getting whipped the last time by Wanderlei but at least his interviews are still some of the best and funniest out there.

http://www.throwdownfightgear.com/1_tdnews.html

Some of my favourite quotes.

Regarding Randleman: "We won’t be cool till I beat his ass again so he’ll shut up! I’m the token black guy of MMA!"
Regarding his friend Tito Ortiz: "Tito the bobble head of the UFC!"
Re fighting Tito: ".. I might break my hand on his giant head. I don’t want to do that."
Re Tim Sylvia: "He look like a giant gizmo from the gremlins."

Read the whole interview, it is so funny. I really hope we see the old Page back. He'd trash talk and back it up and had no quit in him. He took some hard punches from Chuck without flinching and he took what seemed like hundreds of knees (his Achilles heel) from Wanderlei before finally crumbling.

Yeah, actually after having had time to think about this, to me it's a sad day. UFC HW division is really thin. Granted, anything can happen (remember the lucky shot by Randleman) but the only one who MAY (and this is really a stretch) present a challenge will be Sylvia and that's only cause he's big and has a damn good chin. Glass jaw Arlovski? Decent striker but with his chin, if Mirko connects I fear for his life. Vera? Decent striker, untested but will definitely be overpowered by Mirko. Vera should drop to LHW as he'll match well with Chuck and Rampage. Kongo? Too freakin' slow. Herring? Already been KO'd by Mirko and he hasn't shown any improvements since then.

Sigh, can't do much about it anymore but I really wanted to see Mirko/Fedor II, Mirko/Hunt II, Mirko/Nog II, Mirko/Werdum. Those are competitive matchups. Heck, even Nastula and Kharitonov would give him a more competitive match than what UFC has to offer.

I completely agree.....
Crocop's talents are wasted in the UFC.....

Its kind of strange that the UFC will pay top dollar for Crocop but won't be able to supply enough quality fighters for him to fight....
Maybe more signings will be in the making.....Heath Herring comes to mind (even though he was KOed by Crocop - disabling Kick to the Liver)

I'm not giving up hope on Crocop/Fedor II....
Mirko must realize that his legacy in MMA history will be dependent on him beating the greatest champion in MMA Heavyweight history....

By the way....heard Nastula retired....No big surprise...Guy was good and showed promise but was just too old to start the MMA game....

Well....Its official (maybe)...

Crocop will be fighting in February against Eddie Sanchez.....

This might make you happy iluvquarks....(gave me some hope when I heard it).....

Heard a rumour that Crocop has a clause in his contract that says that he will have one fight in Pride....that fight being with Fedor when he is ready to have a rematch.....

Keep your fingers crossed....

Hopefully the Fedor/Mirko fight happens though I've read that Mirko signed a 2 year / 6 fight deal with the UFC. I know Dana's really trying to strengthen the HW and LHW division so there's probably more poaching in the works. They really need to strengthen their MW division as well though. That said, their WW and LW div is really strong. I especially hope to see more of the LWs in upcoming cards.
