The liberal lefties will argue that they are simply exercising their Charter rights and, therefore, are more Canadian than you.
Well according to Khalid Shei_kh Mohammed as quoted in the just released Enhanced Interrogation: Inside the Minds and Motives of the Islamic Terrorists Trying to Destroy America,

If someone happens to be doing something else at a ballgame while the national anthem is being played, shall we record them too? The people in the video were not being disruptive or burning flags, so it's they're right to sit quietly and not sing if they choose. Besides, this isn't the first or the last time someone protested during the playing of an anthem.

What law are they breaking by sitting quietly? Only silly North Americans get riled up over meaningless things like national anthems, flag burning etc.
They're less than 1% of the US population. So that's 500 years of fucking ahead of them before they become a majority. Assuming that they don't become just as American as the rest of the population in the meantime.
You can find an Islamic wack job to say just about anything - most of it crazy and offensive. I don't notice the VAST majority of North American Muslims giving a shit!
Since there have been no "violent outrages" by Muslims in the past few months, the TERB anti Muslim faction has to focus on "violent and outrageous sitting down quietly".
I suppose the question that arises is we are expected to be tolerant of their belief system which is in essence allegiance to Allah.
But in a way patriotism to Canada and it's ideal are it's own belief system. Especially if you believe that Islam is as much a political system as religious one.
So why not stand and be respectful? It's not pledging allegiance to do it but can absolutely be considered disdainful and an insult.
We would be expected to be respectful in a mosque or in Mecca. Perhaps more tolerance on the part of Muslims for other belief systems would go along way towards good will towards their own.

I'm not anti Muslim, but I would like to know that the people coming to Canada respect it. Sitting during the national anthem of any country is disrespectful no matter who does it.

Not really. It's Islam first. I'm not even sure if some of them have a national anthem. Many believe nation states are not correct. That only when all fall under the Nation of Islam is the work done.
And if so then why not stand for ours? We would be respectful of theirs.
They are good people. Respectful. Probably moderates. And I have no issue with them.
