The Miss Universe 2005 winner Natalie Glebova is actually not Canadian...she is Russian born.

Love live the EE beauties...

EE women have for the most part maintained their feminity.

North American women are so busy challenging men and trying to change gender roles that they have forgotten how to be women.

She was likely picked to help sell Trump's condos in Toronto.
Trump isnt behind the construction of the condo here, a Toronto based company paid a fee or a royalty to use the Trump name. Thats how a lot of Trumps buildings are done outside of the New York area.

It's nice to have a Miss Universe that is Canadian and also a native living in Toronto. :D

Miss Hungary Loses New Title, Suffers Internet Humiliations

http://www.pestiside.hu/archives/mi...title_suffers_internet_humiliations000913.php

'We've just received word from the Thai capital of Bangkok that Natalie Glebova, the Russian-born Miss Canada, was hours ago crowned Miss Universe 2005. The triumph of the stunning brunette from Toronto means that reigning Miss Hungary Szandra Proksa will leave Bangkok empty-handed. But that's not the worst news for Proksa, who is pictured left in an undated photo that may help explain why she was unable to become the latest European beauty to reign over this and every other known galaxy.

While details are sketchy, it appears that Proksa, despite being hot-hot-hot, may have flubbed the contest's poise and elocution tests. Indeed, in this report from the contest preliminaries, Proksa was the first example given of contestants unable to satisfactorily answer even the most simple questions in English, the official language of the contest.

Question: "What do you want the rest of the world to know about your country?"

Proksa: "My country err is in central europe...err, I like err... my country very much (giggle). Err... err... (short pause) this err country isn't too big. My country is in Balaton. Balaton (giggle) is the biggest err... (short pause) lake err... in central europe."
We tried to verify that this was how the conversation actually took place, but it appears that the interview portion of the Miss Universe website is either broken, or has been disabled to prevent further embarrassment to the contest's less eloquent entrants.

Proksa's case could not have been helped by another bit of online unpleasantness. Unfortunately, when you type "Szandra Proksa" (or "Proksa Szandra") into Google and do an image search, the only pictures that come up are four rather, well, skanky shots of Szandra with a bad dye job, lounging around in what looks like underwear from Aranypók - as opposed to several pages of tasteful and professional looking shots that you get when you type in Natalie Glebova.

It may be too late to help Szandra conquer the universe, but we feel it impossible not to do something. So to help even the scales, we've given the above picture the name "natalie glebova.jpg," and have otherwise done a bit of Internet mischief aimed at improving our still-reigning national beauty queen's online presence. Meanwhile, if next year's Miss Hungary needs a bit of English tutoring, remember, we're only an email away.'

Canadian takes title, wins over Thai hearts

'Canadian takes title, wins over Thai hearts

UMESH PANDEY

Miss Canada Natalie Glebova was crowned Miss Universe 2005 yesterday at a spectacular ceremony which culminated nearly three weeks of pageantry and public appearances by the 81 contestants.

Unlike many past contests, there was only a slight touch of controversy _ when bikini clad contestants posed for pictures with a Buddhist temple in the far background.

The 54th annual fanfare event, broadcast live around the globe, showcased Thailand's best tourist spots, including areas that were devastated by the tsunami in December last year.

``We had been waiting for this day, a day where we could showcase to the world that Thailand has totally recovered from the disaster of the tsunami and that our natural beauty has been restored,'' said Charlotte Donavanik, a member of the host committee of the organising DTC Group.

The audience was packed with celebrities and business people, along with a host of cabinet members led by Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, all beating the early rush hour traffic to make it before the doors closed at 7.30am.

The cheerful mood of the crowd became sombre when Miss Thailand Chananporn Rosjan failed to make the top 15, but some hopes still rested with Miss Norway Helene Traasavik, whose mother is Thai.

Among the surprises in the top 15 was Miss Indonesia Artika Sari Devi. She joined the contest just three days before it began and was the first beauty contestant to represent the Muslim country wearing a one-piece swimsuit.

The spectacular show, featuring everything from Thai classical dance to a tuk-tuk and an elephant, saw the elimination of Miss Norway and the onslaught of South American beauties on to the stage.

Making it to the top five were Miss Canada, Mexico (Laura Elizondo), Venezuela (Monica Spear), Puerto Rico (Cynthia Olavarria), and Dominican Republic (Renata Sone).

Miss Canada scored hugely with the local crowd during the question and answer segment. Saying the biggest challenge for her was to remain positive no matter how bad the situation and looking at the glass as half full rather than half empty, she ended her appearance with khop khun kha and made a wai, earning resounding applause.

Miss Puerto Rico was placed second and Miss Dominican Republic third.

Miss Thailand won Best National Costume, Miss Philippines is Miss Photogenic and Miss US Virgin Islands was voted Miss Congeniality.

The 12 judges included two former Miss Universe title holders, Thailand's Porntip ``Pui'' Nakhirunkanok Simon, and Ukraine's Mario Cimarro. '
