You would probably sound a little more credible is your figures were accurate. According to Statistics Canada 437,180 immigrants came to Canada last year (2022). Coming out with exaggerated numbers sets the stage for right wing alarmist dribble. Immigration is a necessity for a growing country. I don't think you are a racist just because of a paranoid fear that you will become the minority. If it helps ease the fear 132,000 immigrated from Ukraine last year and they look white.

If Canada didn't have immigration, we would still be trading pelts for manufactured goods. My only concern is that the quality of immigrants that we bring to our country. I don't care about skin colour or religion as long as they respect my right to live my own life. Sadly as prostitution and moral laws illustrate, we already don't seem to value human freedom now.

I have lived under various federal governments in my life time and I really haven't noticed a difference in immigration policy. This also applies to taxes and the illusion that a mega oil contracts would save me from higher gas prices or cheaper food in the supermarket. I hate to ruin the pom-pom routine of left/right/PC/Liberal / NDP supporters but in my experience - they are all lying assholes.

I feel immigration should be focused on bring in immigrants from Latin America and the Caribbean, populations that will easier integrate to Canadian society. The Americas are a world to itself. The sense of adventure, ingenuity and enterprise that exists here has allowed us to to mostly tame and develop two entire continents in only about 200 years.

With the exception of Australia and New Zealand, the rest of the world societies are sold old, developed and traditional that the "git 'er done" mentality can seem alien.

I recognize than just immigrants are be coming to Canada - over 90,000 student work permits were allowed in 2023 and Farmers rely on a large immigrant workforce so the demand for rent, etc comes from more than immigrants. I was complaining about immigration/housing/public infrastructure and not race. Why do people want to bring race into the equation? This has nothing to do with race or gender. It's not about being a minority. I'm a person of color like I said. Doesn't matter if they're Ukrainians or Asians all the same as long as no criminal background.

Many production plant of different field in my area are cutting production due to lack of workers.
They lack workers because the pool of qualified one is nonexistent.
Second they are willing to train new staff but there is no housing for them

It’s the supply side where real corruption is. How can I put this…. It does not matter the situation, somebody always comes along and works out an angle. Corruption, bribes, red tape and a crazy permit system are baked into from the political side…. Everybody takes a piece of the pie.

I live in a smaller community. It’s happen here too. All the old farm land and wooded areas are being developed. Tons of townhouse condo’s where the living rooms and kitchens are “open concept” and the entire space may be about the size of the master bedroom. You can’t sit a family in these “living rooms”.

The Men They Couldn't Hang was indeed a Brit tankie-leftie 80's alternative band; but in "Bobcaygeon", they are a right wing band that sings racist songs. (The Hip probably owes TMTCH an apology on that one). The "aryan twang" refers to the fictional MTCH singing racist songs. Checkerboard floors is probably a generic reference to any number of Queen Street West clubs. (I would have to call by the Cameron for a draft and check that out, ditto Lee's Palace on BLoor West, which is indeed just a short 5-minute stroll from Christie Pits, which isn't actually mentioned in the Hip song).

Like other Hip songs, Bobcaygeon is a non specific pastiche of inaccurate references thrown together with the music to create a mood.
