Apparently Canada has longer wait times and terrible service compared to US private health clinics. I've heard from someone who went to the states for cancer treatment.

Well of course the US has great health care if you can afford it.

it's their health care system that's garbage.

I am sure glad I am sticking to Ontario travel for the next little while! Somebody pointed out in the Comments section to that article that the same thing could happen to a US citizen visiting Canada. I hope this family hires one of those 'don't pay till they pay' lawyer firms to fight Blue Cross.

Not sure how much longer we can afford "free" health care in Ontario. A woman with Hep C in Ontario was recently allowed to die because she didn't have the money to pay for a new but very expensive drug. Eventually, I think OHIP will have to impose a deductible and/or a lifetime maximum.

NICU time does not come cheap. Plus the mother's water broke 6 weeks before delivery, so that means an additional 6 weeks hospital day, even at a discounted rate of $1500 a day, that's more than 60 grand.

We must get over this bull shit idea that healthcare in Canada is 'Free'. You pay. I pay. Every single minute of every single transaction, we pay.

The question is, do we decent value for money? A good return on our investment??

Arguing for Canada to slip back to 3rd world status is always popular on Terb.

Probably the ONLY thing that will turn the conservatives out of office is reducing universal healthcare.
