Personally, not professionally. I don't "hate" him, don't have an emotional reaction.

Sorry if you can't see the difference. I think all leaders at some point have to have a ruthless streak in them. The question is where that ruthlessness will be directed.

A populist is less likely to hurt the little guy than a private equity manager.
No need to apologize, I know the difference.
My question to you was whether you had a problem with his policies or because he was a private equities guy, strictly on a professional level, why would anyone assume there was a personal or emotional aspect to it.
Why are you trying to twist it?

How about this. Convince me.

Justin Trudeau's hatred is about 99.9999%, while Mark Carney is approximately 90.999%. Mark Carney came in a very close second! (3x Blackface drama teacher) Prime Minister Justin Trudeau—I absolutely hate his guts!

I used to like Mark Carney before he became part of the Davos crowd and sat on the board of the World Economic Forum. Mark Carney’s role in Canada’s climate change and carbon tax during Justin Trudeau’s tenure, along with a picture of him with Mrs. Ghislaine Maxwell, raises questions. He claims he didn’t know her. I don’t know if Mark Carney is telling a lie or the truth! All I know is that if he becomes the next prime minister, it shows a lack of judgment in mingling with Ghislaine Maxwell.

Here’s why I dislike Mark Carney:

Mark Carney’s involvement in Canada’s climate policy under Justin Trudeau evolved over time, reflecting his shifting roles. Trudeau became Prime Minister in November 2015, and during his tenure, Canada implemented its federal carbon pricing framework in 2019. Carney’s direct influence on this policy varied by phase.

Early Years (Pre-Politics): As Governor of the Bank of Canada (2008–2013), Carney laid the groundwork by stabilizing the economy post-2008 crisis, but climate wasn’t a central focus then—his climate emphasis emerged later at the Bank of England.

After leaving in 2013, he had no formal role in Canada until later advisory positions. Trudeau’s carbon tax, announced in 2016 and enacted in 2019, imposed a price starting at C$20 per tonne on provinces lacking their own plans, rising to C$50 by 2022. Carney wasn’t directly involved in its design—he was in the UK—but his global climate advocacy (e.g., TCFD) bolstered the intellectual case for carbon pricing worldwide, indirectly supporting Trudeau’s approach.

Advisory Role (2020s): Carney returned to Canadian policy circles as an economic adviser to Trudeau, notably chairing a task force on economic growth in 2024. He initially supported the consumer carbon tax, aligning with Trudeau’s signature climate policy. However, as public discontent grew—fueled by cost-of-living concerns and Conservative opposition under Pierre Poilievre—Carney’s stance shifted.

Mark Carney's involvement in consumer carbon pricing in the UK and his initial support for the consumer carbon tax in Canada helped drive the cost of living (prices of groceries, inflation, fuel costs, etc.). Then, the final straw was his association with Jeffrey Epstein's associates (Ghislaine Maxwell, a child sex predator and pimp). I don’t know if he is telling the truth about Maxwell Ghislaine. All I know is that it raises a red flag and shows a lack of judgment on his part for mingling with Mrs. Ghislaine at a high-profile estate party.

I would love to see Mark Carney take a lie detector test to determine if he is telling the truth, and I would also like to see the DOJ release Maxwell Ghislaine's black book so I can check if he ever traveled to Epstein's island or if his name is in her black book!

There are too many red flags! Canada can’t take a chance with this individual as a future Prime Minister (Mark Carney). For a non-elected Prime Minister (Mark Carney), hopefully, it will be a short stint like PM Kim Campbell! In the end, globalists or elitists like him are scumbags! Anyone who belongs to the WEF are scumbags!
Thank you for the thoughtful answer.

I disagree with the idea that Carney is guilty by association by having his pic taken with Maxwell. There is no accusation of any misconduct by him and no indication that his claim of not knowing who she was is untrue. I imagine there are thousands of people who had their pics taken with Maxwell at various events over the years; she was a socialite who moved in the same circles. Is every person who ever attended an event where Maxwell was present guilty of being a sexual predator? Obviously not.

Anyway…other than that I’ll defer to your knowledge of Carney’s history. I don’t hate the carbon tax as much as you but I recognize that it is not popular and in any case he’s revoking the tax now! He’s literally admitting that you won the argument and it still makes no difference to you which kinda makes me think your issue is not really about the carbon tax anyway?

Carney is going to repackage the hated carbon tax and apply it to Canadian Corporations + increase it
So he will increase the tax burden on Canadian Companies while Trump is reducing the corporate tax burden
  1. Bye Bye Canadian corps and the jobs they create
  2. the Canadian corps that cant move will just pass the higher taxes onto consumers via higher prices- 3 card Monty with carbon taxes

Carney had been supporting carbon taxes for years, he is not going to change that
+ he has the endorsement of the climate lunatic Steven Guilbeault - there is no way he gets that without promising carbon taxation

The very lesson you say we need. I don't think handing the keys to Carney on the first go around is a good idea.

Do you ready think Carney isn't a card carrying member of the rich Neo-Liberal class? As a Bank Chairman and working for both Broomfield and Goldman-Sachs?
PP will kill the CBC. That is like cancelling Terry Fox in that it would rip the heart out of the country.
