i never really liked jackson but i respected him as a performer... he had some pretty cool dance moves... as a person i found him weird and questionable...
...these are guys living their 15 mins of fame...as far as impact on music, and videos...MJ was an icon. I say this as someone who was never a fan of his music. But his musical legacy will live for generations. The guy was in the business for 40 yrs...these clowns you mention above will be forgotten in a year or 2. Musical acts of today do not have the long staying power of the Beatles, Stones, etc...Micheal Jackson's is right up there with the greatest performers ever. As talented as he was at his profession is how inept he was as a human being...mrcheeks said:Even stars today like Justin Timberlake, Usher, Chris Brown owe him some props.
RIP MJ. A true icon.
I hope that too his kids will be able to live a happy, more normal life. Mind you though, Wacko's finance is not rosy at all, and I fear that the circus is just going to get bigger after his sudden death.Twinklegirl said:At least his children will have a shot at a normal life now without that weird ass dad. I'm sorry their father died, but I'm sure they'll be well looked after, and hopefully placed with someone who isn't a freak.
It's just starting. The news on how he died. The documentary, the upcoming funeral. The Benefit concert.shatrat said:yeah all the news networks had in to the night news coverage... they even filmed the helicopter as it was transporting his frail corpse
Unless you're the child who's been abused. Then your life is fucked. You say "alleged" but if you read the entire court documents which are freely available on the Web, no reasonable person can have doubt that the children were actually abused. He simply was not convicted because of the payoff.Plan B said:The joy Michael brought to the World far outweighs any alleged abuses he was said to have comitted...
No, because as Bubbles began to grow into an adult, he (Bubbles) wasn't so cute anymore, so he was discarded like a used tampon.poonhunter said:Will Bubbles be at the funeral?
Right on. Abuse of children cannot be excused by anything.Mao Tse Tongue said:Unless you're the child who's been abused. Then your life is fucked. And to your point about the settlement, it wasn't the child's decision to take the money genius, but his parents. Additionally there was much chatter at the time that the parents made it hurt for Jackson by taking the money since it was their suspicion that Jackson would beat any charges. Naturally the quid pro quo of the deal means the parents can't speak publically, so what should they do. Tough call for the parents.
There are many layers to the story, but in the end children were at least confronted with horribly inappropriate things and at worst abused, and they will carry those scars for life. It's part of the record now, and no amount of love for Jackson's music can forgive it.
Any bets he was a walking breathing pharmacy near the end.calloway said:It's going to come down to an overdose of a prescription drug... which caused his blood pressure to drop and his heart stop.
Autopsy on Friday... you read it here first.
Abusers such as him never mean to abuse. They don't see it as abuse which is what is so messed up about it.nottyboi said:I don't believe Michael Jackson ever intentional hurt or abused anyone. Most of the allegations were back up with lucerative civil suits launched by people of highly questionable character. Regardless, I think he made an enormous contribution to humanity and brought us a great deal of joy through his brilliant performances. When I see videos of his moonwalk, I am still astounded, amazed, entertained. If he did abuse anyone, it is probably because he was abused and exploited. Never had the childhood he deserved.
