Even stars today like Justin Timberlake, Usher, Chris Brown owe him some props.
RIP MJ. A true icon.
...these are guys living their 15 mins of fame...as far as impact on music, and videos...MJ was an icon. I say this as someone who was never a fan of his music. But his musical legacy will live for generations. The guy was in the business for 40 yrs...these clowns you mention above will be forgotten in a year or 2. Musical acts of today do not have the long staying power of the Beatles, Stones, etc...Micheal Jackson's is right up there with the greatest performers ever. As talented as he was at his profession is how inept he was as a human being...

Never liked his music. Even when it was the early 80's and he was huge I didn't like it. To me, it was just disco-esque crap.

I was into the Beatles, the Stones, Led Zepplin, The Who, Pink Floyd, U2 and then the whole New Wave thing. Michael Jackson? He was just a joke to me musically and every other way.

In his later years, his crazyness and perversions emerged and it was as if you were watching a train wreck in real time. You just couldn't avoid it either.

The big problem now as I see it is that we are going to be fucking bombarded with tabloid TV bullshit to the extreme regarding Michael Jackson. There will be no escaping it and he will make a pile of money even though he is dead.

Sigh, I'm afraid to even turn on the TV.

yeah all the news networks had in to the night news coverage... they even filmed the helicopter as it was transporting his frail corpse

At least his children will have a shot at a normal life now without that weird ass dad. I'm sorry their father died, but I'm sure they'll be well looked after, and hopefully placed with someone who isn't a freak.
I hope that too his kids will be able to live a happy, more normal life. Mind you though, Wacko's finance is not rosy at all, and I fear that the circus is just going to get bigger after his sudden death.

its gonna be presley all over again... people will say jackos alive performing weddings in niagara falls lol... but i do feel sorry for the kids... who names a kid blanket???? they are gonna need some help

The joy Michael brought to the World far outweighs any alleged abuses he was said to have comitted...
Unless you're the child who's been abused. Then your life is fucked. You say "alleged" but if you read the entire court documents which are freely available on the Web, no reasonable person can have doubt that the children were actually abused. He simply was not convicted because of the payoff.

And to your point about the settlement, it wasn't the child's decision to take the money genius, but his parents. Additionally there was much chatter at the time that the parents made it hurt for Jackson by taking the money since it was their suspicion that Jackson would beat any charges. Naturally the quid pro quo of the deal means the parents can't speak publically, so what should they do. Tough call for the parents.

There are many layers to the story, but in the end children were at least confronted with horribly inappropriate things and at worst abused, and they will carry those scars for life. It's part of the record now, and no amount of love for Jackson's music can forgive it.

Will Bubbles be at the funeral?
No, because as Bubbles began to grow into an adult, he (Bubbles) wasn't so cute anymore, so he was discarded like a used tampon.

Bubbles was abused where he ended up in some travelling circut, however, he ultimately ended up in a chimp sanctuary in Florida.

I know this because I saw a documentary about chimp abuse and there was Bubbles.

Chimps are cute when they're babies, but they grow into extremely strong and sometimes agressive primates that can tear your arm out of its socket.

Right on. Abuse of children cannot be excused by anything.

I'm still shocked he's gone. Quite sad, such a gigantic talent. He was the Elvis of my generation. Of course, it had to end this way I suppose. It was almost inevitable.

Like i said, the wailing/flailing has begun;

The lead story on the BBC, 25 mins of the 1/2 hour broadcast, Iran got 3 mins at the end.

CBCNW spent a solid hour on him, pre-empting all world events.

Thank god for DW-TV; MJ got 6 mins and there were 8 other news worthy reports.

Psssst, nothing about MJ on TSN.

Sorry folks, he was important, he was an innovator, he was entertaining with the good/dark sides filling lots of airspace and newsprint (say what?) but gawd almighty, there's so much more out there that affects the world more than the death of the MJ.

Hey, He didn't invent the moonwalk. Bojangles did way back when. MJ just brought it in front of millions in the age of mass media.

Twitter, not hat I tweat, went down. Google shut down. Yahoo is fracked for a while.

Can't promise that this is my last word on this, but I feel better. Toke put it well, I'm neither happy or sad he 's gone.

RIP Michael, My thoughts go out to the family.

It's going to come down to an overdose of a prescription drug... which caused his blood pressure to drop and his heart stop.

Autopsy on Friday... you read it here first.
Any bets he was a walking breathing pharmacy near the end.

WHAT will he be REMEMBERED for most The early MUSIC days or the later WACKO JACKO years with all the surgeries-weirdness-abuse trials?

Its still a shame he is gone at such an early age.

I don't believe Michael Jackson ever intentional hurt or abused anyone. Most of the allegations were back up with lucerative civil suits launched by people of highly questionable character. Regardless, I think he made an enormous contribution to humanity and brought us a great deal of joy through his brilliant performances. When I see videos of his moonwalk, I am still astounded, amazed, entertained. If he did abuse anyone, it is probably because he was abused and exploited. Never had the childhood he deserved.

Abusers such as him never mean to abuse. They don't see it as abuse which is what is so messed up about it.

There are many who were abused as kids who do not abuse now. I have no sympathy for this man at all.

I am not happy he is dead, but I am not sad about it either. There are more deserving people out there that I will give my emotions to and MJ is not one of them.
