Tamara, I like more and more, each time that I toss off to your photos and read your intelligent posts. I have alluded to the DSMR-IV and it somewhat like the bible for mental illness, more like an encyclopedia. Kennedy may have used the term de-institutionalized, but that didn't stop lobotomies and electro-shock therapy....if i could just say that the DSM is like the holy bible for the field of psychology...its basically a book listing all types of symptomotologies related to all types and specific psychological disorders...and these symptoms listed for each disorder...all of these lists of symptoms...whatever they are...we humans have all experienced most of them at some point in our lives...and thats because we are human...and we have basic human emotion...this book simply lists our basis human emotional responses to external and or internal life experiences...and sometimes we respond so drastically for whatever reason...maybe some sort of predisposition or not...but sometimes we respond in such ways that we become incapable of functioning...and this is a sad thing...i respect all those living such this sort of incapability...
...how amazing it is that we have charitable events to support people in our communities...
...and thank god for a man like frank pinel...a french man who was the first to take the chains off of the mentally ill in the late 1700s...and thank goodness for president kennedy who was the first to use the term deinstitutionalization in the 1960s...wow...
...but we still have so much work to do...
...and please no negative energy on terb...lets be nice to each other...

True, keep busy and be less self involved - reach out to help others.have you ever noticed that most hypochondriacs do nothing much? Too much time on their hands, too much oprah, dr phil... Not saying some folks aren't nuts, of course there are cuckoo folk walking among us, but the housewife sitting at home depressed? No kidding! Who wouldn't be? Get a job. Go to the gym. volunteer. cut the grass.
