Men who haggle about price ...

I won't mention any names, because that would not be fair, but I just finished a series of pm's with a member who thinks I should adjust my prices to fit his budget because .... "that's my budget". This is an ongoing issue that I thought I would voice.

This member and I have joked and flirted on the board before, and after after looking on my website, he pm'd me and asked me if I would see him for $40. less than my hh rate. Fair enough to ask, but I politely told him I was fairly busy with the rates as they were and declined his offer. He wrote back a few more times saying "... so, you won't see me?" I finally said, if you truly can't afford it, that is okay, but if you just don't think I'm worth it and want a discount - that is just cheap and insulting. I gave him a chance to rephrase his request in a respectful way - but he just wrote back "...that's my budget."

Thoughts Ladies, members??

From what I've read on here, it happens...not much you can do about it and just try not to take it personally.

Does you website say anything about not asking for discounts? Probably won't, but it may help

I try not to take it personally, but when they review your website, see your pictures and read your positive reviews - by offering 30% less, they have put a value that much less that market rate. I can't fault someone for asking if prices are flexible, but when they get a polite response and still come back 4 or 5 times, that is very insulting.

Ziri, you should politely suggest that he seek companionship elsewhere within his budget if it is an issue. (or impolitely tell him to go fuck himself, but that attitude cost me a promising career*, so maybe not)

Note to my fellow hobbyists: Even if you're broke, don't be cheap. Haggling is just... ugh. Don't do it. Save up until you can afford a visit at the gal's stated rate of compensation.

*Where the motherfucking hell does it actually say a goddammed WalMart greeter has to be pleasant to the fucks that come into the store? And the managers are going to take their side over mine? Fucking cunts!

Speaking of budget.... I recall a thread where it was mentioned by another PAID advertiser here that you should be paying Fred for all this advertising your getting with a red handle!

Is it that you can't afford Fred's advertising $ or are you being cheap?

Sure this thread was a few weeks ago so you should be able to afford it by now, no?

This would be a relevant post if I was 'haggling' with Fred over the advertised rates - which I am not.
I fully intend to be a paid advertiser shortly, but rude and unwelcoming responses like yours do not encourage me to do so. Thanks for your input.

I can't imagine engaging in five messages with someone who I've already told I won't accommodate. I don't have the time or the energy or the inclination to continue a conversation with someone who is simply not listening. Then starting a thread about it just further illustrates how much space you've allowed him to take up inside your head.

ps... LoL @ the guys with the good memories... I'm looking forward to seeing you in blue! ;)
Us guys like to take up alot of space.

JACKASS.

To my knowledge, anyone can contribute content here free of charge.
I won't post another thing here until I'm a paid advertiser here.
Happy now?
Don't listen to these dorks, you're entitled to post here as much as you like, there's no link to any web page or phone number. You're another member just like the rest of us.

Jessica is the advertising nazi, thinks she can boss people around, pay no attention to her. If there's a problem the mods will let you know.

It's not always a question of whether or not you're worth your advertised price. I know a few ladies I think are worth two or three times what they charge, and a few who are simply priceless. That doesn't mean I'll pay whatever they want. I have to think of my own worth, my own goals, my own budget. And balance that against the price tag. Worth is not a one-sided issue in this hobby, and I'm always surprised when people think it is.

Now, I don't see an issue with him asking if you'll see him for less. As you said, you two seem to have some kind of rapport. However, if you politely decline him he should simply not persist.

I have negotiated multi hour engagements. Why wouldn't I? This is a business transaction, after all. Now, haggling an hour or half hour deal makes no sense. For dates longer than 3 hours I have a number in mind and 8 out of 10 times I get it, too. I've always approached this just like any other service.

I've noticed that this is becoming a bigger problem than before. At first I thought it was just me but I am hearing it coming from other ladies as well. I will consider doing it with a few long time regulars because they are going through harder times financially. But then so am I! Just because a client can't afford the SP's rate, we should NOT be made to feel that we must adjust our rates to accommodate them. Do they also go to their dentist and say "well, this is what I am going to pay you because..... that's my budget."

Other than trying to save a few bucks, I've never seen the upside in trying negotiate over price on an hour's service.
I'd rather spend time with a happily paid provider, and not go into a session with any kind of negativity.

I don't think there is an 'other than'.

I agree though that I don't get it. Can't imagine it ever helps with service...if an SP charges more than I'm willing to pay, I don't call. Simple as that.
