I work for a big engineering company, and one of our divisions we call Industrial.
One of its subsets if Food.
The last big job I saw plans on the boardroom wall were for doubling the capacity of Malic Acid production, ala sour patch candy coating, in Stoney Creek.
It was continous run, but with surge vats and pressure vessels to allow them to start and stop the process if redundant compnents were not enough to keep the process running.

Then in early days of Covid cereal demand at one of their prior client went though the roof.
They hired us to design PLC control on the grain pressure cooking vats.
Prior to that human driven process speed up lead to steam burns to operators opening big vat covers before pressure had come down.

Then our lead lady figured how to use a waste ingredient, bran husk flakes.
To coat raisin so still somewhat damp raisins could be added to the raisin bran mix before the final drying line.
Which was sped up to meet demand.
Before that the raisins were clumping because of the line speed up.
