Every apartment, every Airbnb, is different. The owner makes the rules. Or sometimes the apartment/condo building makes rules as well. You have to check that before you book and/or pay. Get your question translated into Spanish, and ask if guests are allowed. Don't pretend that these are once in a while old family friends - be honest, because better that way than grief later on.
Sometimes the Airbnb will have the answer under their section of rules. These are set up by the owner. Often there are statements like "no prostitution", etc. Many will have standard warnings about und**age - I think for registered hotels and guest accommodations these warnings are standard. And with or without them of course don't think of having a guest that has not been screened by security, or at minimum where you have seen the cedula, age, and picture that matches the person you are dealing with.
Airbnb's are sometimes in an apartment attached to the owner's home, or a condo/apartment in the same building as an owner, so be sure you are clear on the guest policy no matter whether it is an apartment, Airbnb, or even in the buildings mentioned by other posters (Energy, Blux) as there are restrictions also due to Covid in some of those, or with some of the owners.

Most posters in this thread advise to learn Spanish. Its good advice and works for any country you go to. However Google Translate has done the job for me. As long as you have whatsapp, you can communicate through your phone. The girls that are working understand this.
