MBB - Catching up

I'm curious about some of the folks from the late, lamented MBB.

On this board, I've seen Hepcat, Foxhound, Cool Dude, Sasha (I'm drooling still, my love! Look outside your window.), Picky, and Poolie but whatever happened to the curmudgeonly Forest? Did he go down with the ship, singing 'Nearer my god to thee,' did he permanently retire to the links in the company of the lovely Mrs. Forest (She who must be obeyed), or has he found a new life here on TERB?

And what of the Picky/Ripped contests of strength? Was it ever resolved as to who had the greatest IQ, etc? I'm betting not. That surely would have been a sign the end was near!

Well, sort of! What actually happened was that Picky was intent that day on drawing Ripped into an argument on some not entirely significant detail. Picky's like that. Ripped was busy but could not bring himself to just ignore what Picky was posting. Ripped is like that. Ripped therefore decided to suspend Picky's account until he was good and ready to deal with Picky! Picky then e-mailed Ripped the message that he had won and told Ripped not to bother reinstating his account.

So Picky quit more so than he was booted!

Yes Sasha, it is truly I, the one who saved you from a lurking Picky, o so long ago. I forgot my vvv password and I deleted the old TERB cookies, so here I am under a new handle. Just as well, I think.

Sorry to have caused folks worry. Actually, I'm rather touched that people cared when I wandered off. (Sniff.)

What happened is that I had to make some changes in my life. Various pressures were building up and I felt I had to cut out my participation on the boards. That wasn't the only change. There were lots of others. Now I think I've got my life in order, more or less, so here I am once more.

Y'know, one of the best things that came out of participation on MBB was the idea of switching from Win98 to Win2000. That was due to you. I remember thinking, there's a smart, computer-savvy woman and she's pretty high on this other OS. I ought to give it a try. Well, I'm still with Win2000 and I've never regretted the change. My belated thanks for the inspiration.

If you guys want to find Ripped, just go to the CB. Either there or detox where he should be in all seriousness. Ripped is the most talented, gifted, funny alcoholic I have ever seen in my life. He's also a genuinely nice guy. One of these days Rippie is going to pull a Bon Scott. It's a shame, since the guy really does have a lot going for him, if only he would change his cynical outlook on life.
