Finally Floyd has agreed. Biggest grossing fight in history. As I said in the thread in The Sports section, There Is A God.

They are both past their peak. Fight would've been amazing 3 years ago.
I guess it's better than nothing.

Final money grab match for them both.

Five years ago, I would say Pacquiao wins. Now I say, Mayweather wins and there is a rematch!

And generating money than ufc can only dream of.
I'd be curious to see the numbers.
UFC to me is tarnished badly now, but they don't give a shit about a few guys like me. There will always be those who pay for the PPView and buy their shirts.

But this boxing match is a big deal.
Team Paquiao!

I'd agree, this fight is five yrs too late. The best PacMan has passed. Manny, despite having incredible speed still, I think has slowed and looked ordinary at times. But Floyd just gets better and stays as fast.

I want to see Pacquiao win, but I'm basing that not just off him being fun to watch, but him coming across as a nice person, very genuine before and after fights.
Whereas Mayweather is .. well if you've seen him talk you know.

But leaving person opinions aside and just looking as skill, then Mayweather is the choice for me.

I'd see a rematch if it goes the distance and Mayweather wins on score card. Perhaps they'll meet twice in 2015.
I think Maidana laid the blueprint of how to cut the ring off when fighting Floyd. Manny definitely isn't knocking dudes out like he use to but Floyd still hasn't faced a fighter of his calibre before.

Boxing is still around?
Mayweather has been the highest paid athlete in the world for several years. He'll be the highest paid in 2015 too.

Manny by decision 7rds - 5, dropping Floyd once in the 9th.

Though I am looking forward to this fight, I have very little faith in the judges calling a fair decision in a close fight.

Ya I wouldn't be surprised there maybe some controversial decisions which is ANOTHER reason to have a rematch. And I don't think there would be an early knockout. There is too much money at stake to upset the audience and broadcasters etc.

I think the key question to ask is...in a boxing match where neither is likely to KO the other...will the judges give Pacquiao a decision in a closely fought match against Mayweather who values his undefeated record more than anything... if I'm backing Pacman I would think that he'll either have to KO Mayweather or win decisively.

Any 50/50 result will almost definitely result in Mayweather getting the benefit of the doubt. Just my two cents.

Flloyd will knock Manny out. He has the reach, better defence, power and is and has always been the superior fighter.
