Conceded. however it was a catalyst. There was mention at the time that the grass on the mountains was imported and much of the flora and fauna of Hawaii was brought in from elsewhere. There was speculation that the type of grass on the mountainsides contributed to the acceleration of the fire. Maui had wooden buildings more than two hundred years old that hadn't been burnt to the ground before last summer.

We could go around in circles all day debating this. Basically weather conditions were ripe for the "perfect storm" to cause this fire.

Sure could. I only brought it up because I watched an update on 60 minutes last night. A guy showed how the fast growing African grass had fully grown back since being burned to a crisp last summer and it thrives while being bone dry. His opinion was that it was a perfect accelerant that wasn't native to Hawaii and that it made it a ripe catalyst for the "perfect storm". Not my opinion, but his. However. You have yours. You are probably right.
