I wonder how many woman consented to having sex with him in his office?
Are we counting those who liked him a lot and wanted to bang him, or the ones who felt they "had" to, to advance their careers or not to be fired, or industry blackballed????

Big difference there!!

Heard he a remote switch under his desk to lock his office door. Creepy!

Now while nothing has been proven in court, I'm sure NBC is prepared for a lawsuit from Lauer. The network is in damage control mode and made the decision to can him.
The head winds have changed, there is no appetite for persecuting consensual sex in the workplace, only Weinstein like behaviour. There are so many skeletons in the closet everywhere just waiting to come out and the climate is ripe now.

I was wondering what the total count might be. But yes, there's certainly a big difference between the two.

Why is that creepy?
You're a woman, you walk into his office. He asks you to close the door behind you. He reaches under his desk and locks the door behind you then comes on to you. That's creepy!

I suspect this is just the tip of the iceberg. Lots more are likely to go down.

On the other hand, I wonder how many men in positions of power who've been guilty of sexual assault (but not outed) will rethink their behavior going forward. Could be a big increase in business for SPs. ;)

Matt Lauer's bizarre, sexualized behavior may go further back than even Variety magazine predicted, according to entertainment news website, TMZ.

Variety theorized, Wednesday, that Lauer's alleged antics ramped after Meredith Viera left the Today Show to pursue other projects, but TMZ says they've found evidence that suggests Lauer harassed Viera while the pair co-hosted NBC's morning talk show — and that while the footage might have seemed innocent earlier in the week, in light of recent revelations, it now seems downright creepy.

In the clip, Matt and Meredith are sitting on the Today Show couch, preparing to go on air. When Meredith leans over to pick up a stack of papers just off to the side of the sofa, Matt can be heard quipping, "Pretty sweater. Keep bending over like that. It's a nice view."

Did not read the whole thread, so pardon me if I'm repeating something that may have already been mentioned.

From a hobbyist point of view, I just cannot understand WTF these rich guys were thinking.
I've been fortunate to have some pretty good jobs, well paying and in environments where there were often many attractive women around. Some reported to me, others didn't. No matter what, I always do my level best not to rock the boat at all at work.
This is where my money comes from. This is what allows me to do much of what I'm lucky to be able to do in life.
Why the hell would I do anything to risk that?
Some of these celebs who are being accused have enough money to go out and pay for whatever kind of services they desire. No strings attached.

I know some will say it's the power trip they seek. Not very well thought out, IMO.

There is a video of Katie Curic telling an interviewer that Matt pinches her ass a lot.

Guy was a real piece of work.

How is it NOT creepy! I'm thinking also a clapper for the lights and a button that lights a candle and turns on some music. It's nutty!

I think some people feel they are in a position of power where

1) the victim will not complain out of fear
2) the ego that says the victim must want them because of who they are and their power/status
3) the fact that for a long time this behavior was swept under the rug. We go from Mad Men style harassment to years of it being wrong but companies doing nothing and settling with the victims to now with the exposure and consequences. Biggest difference is social media where everyone finds out everything pretty quick.
4) I think part of the sweeping under the rug was the person was important to the company. Might be the ego of the individual thinking they can't be fired because they are too important.

It's a known quote - "Don't shit where you eat" - these guys are paying the price for arrogance.

I just saw a news headline that says Matt Lauer has apologized for his actions and vowed to fix the damage. How? This isn't something you can undo and take back. Just read a newspaper article on victims of sexual assault. Takes them a while to feel comfortable enough to have sex. Some require therapy, some are unable to feel safe and get intimate with their partner. I don't know what the circumstances of Lauer's offences but I'm thinking if the lady doesn't want it, she's going to be messed up to some degree.
