This is out of a grade 7 math book. How do you split a circle in 6 equal pieces with two lines?

Any ideas? :confused:

I guess not

if you draw a circular line inside a circle to make it look like a snail. then draw a liner from starting point through end point to other side you can disect to 6 pieces, just have to figure out how many swirls.but no way to make equal,to any mathamatically acceptable degree. not that I have a degree in that stuff.

try this

fold circle in half like winston said but cut at 90', so 2 equal peices. then fold in quarter and slice in middle from point. origami it up.

Draw a Z in the circle that touches the perimeter in 4 places, then draw a line straight across the centre of the circle. Somehow make sure each section is equal as you do this. :rolleyes:

That makes 8 pieces. I think it should be two straight lines.
