Another lunatic with a gun.

This guy was a serious nut job. This guy set fire to a room, was charged with stalking women and he wrote some seriously disturbing papers for his English class. Everyone who knew this guy, knew he was a wacko. He was determined by a court of law to be danger to himself and others. He was sentenced to psychiatric treatment.

How the hell was he able to purchase a gun? Why was he living in a dorm with other people?

Anyone with a Psychiatric history should never be able to buy a gun. To hell with medical privacy. End of story

Statistically these kind of things happen much more often in the US than any other country. Is it because:
a) US has more crazy people
b) It's easy to buy guns in the US

Aside from availability, crazy people in the US grow up hearing about other mass murders involving guns, so they fantasize about doing that.
However in Iraq, the nutjobs sees suicide attacks on the news, so they go out and blow themselves up instead.
