Phoeling looks good. He's big. He's got speed. Attacks the net. Can shoot.

Leafs have 7 players reach 20 goals and Nylander isn't one of them.

If Leafs don't choke in Game 7 3rd period they can take this series.

He actaully looked more impressive than Jack Hughes at the World Juniors.

not always sure...
Hall and Oats is money, perhaps the favorite band of Bay St.
Oh, right! The Bay street bankers, of course - they're the ones that can fit their fat behinds into the $435 seats night after night.

If that's the target demographic then I'm going to petition that the goal song for next season be jazzed up with a classic like "Tie a Yellow Ribbon".
Then the rest of the nation would respect us. :encouragement:

Someone was asking why there's no big money in women's hockey. Just watch those Junior highlights. Much more skill speed and size. Best juniors vs the best women. No contest.

I'll go farther. The best AAA Midgets beat the Women's teams...I think you have to go down to Bantam for the Women's hockey to win.

Why are we comparing women's hockey to boy bantam hockey on a Leafs forum? I get it cause the Leafs are soft skilled divas? It's playoffs time for the Leafs to put on the big boy shoes and man up.

Cuz the country’s best boys Bantam team could challenge the best woman’s team quite well.

Been there, done that.

There are also many astute hockey fans and analysts and commentators who really don't like the Leafs chances against the Bruins...
With good reason. .500 vs playoff teams with -10 goal differential, 4th worst among playoff teams. Giving up 5 goals and 50 shots against on the eve of the playoffs wasn't a great sign of playoff form and mindset taking shape either.

Can we talk about T & A on this thread? Is that ok with you?

Those stats mean nothing come playoff time.

Sparks back on the Leafs playoff roster after Hutch had to leave for personal reasons (his wife is having a baby), baby born with "Maple Leaf Blue eyes", could be a good omen.

That's the way to do it, forecheck for something and your goals for free.

Finally they play the Sundin Method against Chara. They made him, they made him look like a Brontoburger. If the Leafs are going to give themselves a chance at eliminating the bruins, that's what they must do.

An inspirational song, LET'S HEAR IT.

Where's the guy that said Marner sucks cause he's too small? Didn't see the big heavy team push the Leafs around. Boston didn't dress Backas. That tells you they rather go speed than brawn. Leafs played very structured.

Now you know why Leafs went out and got Muzzin. Gardner still looks shakey out there. Muzzin is out there stopping the Bergeron line which looks nothing like they did last year. Tavaras huge to match up against Bergeron as well. Andersen was very sound.

They got rid of Lindholm not to get Petan but to be able to make room to play Moore. A rookie. Playing over Ennis who has 12 goals.

Good win by the Leafs. Boston tried to match the Leafs speed they can't in game 1. I think Boston is going back with Backes to add a heavy game, that the Leafs don't like.

Good playoff game. Andersen was really sharp and the defense stepped up.

The Bruins want to play dirty, let them. The Leafs are ready for anything they throw at them. Stick to the game plan and let them take foolish penalties - keep serving Brontoburgers. Yaba Daba Dooo!

As for David Backes, I'll quote the great Ray Hudson: Backes has deceptive speed, he's slower than he looks.

I think Kadri can match the rat, Brown staring to hit and Muzzin doesn't shy away from the rough stuff. Would like to see Freddy the goat get more physical but he only gets like 8 minutes agame.

The 4th line say more ice time in the 3rd period. Gauthier may not hit much but he's become something of a Trappist monk....and he's still only 23.
