Toronto police are searching for a man wanted for dropping large-sized rocks off a bridge onto moving traffic below in Scarborough.

Police say on August 9 and August 16, a man was seen standing on a pedestrian bridge in the area of Massey Square and Crescent Town Road. On both occasions he waited for a vehicle to approach on the roadway below before throwing a softball-sized rock, causing damage to the vehicle’s windshield.

Police did not say if anyone was seriously injured as a result of rocks hitting their windshield.

The man is described as being between 50 and 60 years of age with a thin build and short dark hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.

Are they still hiring? I'll take the job, if it pays at least $25 an hour, with benefits.

Once when I was about nineteen, a friend of mine and I threw balloons filled with water at cars from the sixth floor of an apartment building, but this was on a residential street with speed bumps and a 10 MPH speed limit. We hit one windshield.

This fucking idiot was arrested, but only charged with mischief, not attempted murder.

Any 52 year old knows that throwing a rock at a car going 100km/h is going to kill the driver if it hits the windshield. This is attempted murder.

I can understand how a younger child may not understand the physics of velocity and mass, and grasp the severity of their actions, but this adult needs to be locked up for life.

I wonder if he's mentally ill.
Would explain where he found the rocks - from his own head.

If he has no prior convictions, he'll have to plead guilty to the mischief charge, and then he'll be 'known to the police' permanently. Given the video evidence, he can't possibly win acquittal, and the Sentencing Judge would likely impose a greater penalty. They don't like it when someone caught 'red handed' tries to get away with it, instead of having faith in the mercy of The Court.

In Ontario at least there's no mischief against people, isn't that just assault?
Depends.
If the mischief causes damage or destruction to property worth more than $5000, the offendercan be sentenced to imprisonment for up to ten years. If the price is less than $5000, but more than $1000, the offender can be sentenced to imprisonment for up to two years.
.

And

Punishment

(2) Every one who commits mischief that causes actual danger to life is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for life.

Lawyers would likely argue it out.

You said earlier: " Mischief here is vague. There’s mischief against property, there’s mischief against people. " What is mischief against people? It doesn't exist. Is sentencing someone for a crime that they did your idea of mischief to people? Why quote that? Are you just making stuff up at this point?
