Perfect example of why the "defund the police" nuts should pull their head out of their ass.
Can you imagine what would have happened if a social worker would have been dispatched to this incident?
this guy should be dead. suspect attempted to remove a weapon of lethal force from the officer. tasers sometimes are not effective on all people. this guy was lucky that he was not killed as it would been acceptable even called for in my opinion to use lethal force. worse case scenario dead suspect or dead cop, dead woman and possible nut lose in public with a lethal weapon.
Not going to take the time to track down the "most punchable face" thread, but this guy belongs...

You don't know. Maybe the social worker would have talked the asshole into surrendering. And if the situation was dangerous, the police backup would have been involved as soon as it started to escalate.
I'm not down with "defund the police", but I DO think that sometimes the cops make borderline situations worse, not better and a combination of skills can sometimes work best.
