Here is a real tragic story. A Seattle policeman shot and killed a homeless man (John Williams) who was doing some wood carving. This sounds totally senseless.:(

So? That doesn't mean nothing. I am talking about on most circumstances if someone is shot they will be severely unfunctionable meaning they wont be able to run at you or anything like that. One shot would have been enough to stop this guy.
As has been pointed out to you by a number of different posters, as a general statement you are incorrect. Many persons who have been shot with rounds that do not have what is termed "stopping power" have suceeded in reaching and harming the person who shot them.

Perhaps in a specific case that may not be true and the person may be stopped but pray tell me how do you know that in advance?

Seemingly you have not done that reseach on the development of the U.S. Army Pistol Model 1911 and the .45 ACP round that I recommended.

Those fucking homeless woodcarvers. Always playing the innocent card when the chips are down.

Respectfully, your first post does not read that you are 'curious' as to why a more qualified person was not called. This post is clearly riddled with strong opinion and weak conjecture (6 at least). Ardvark was challenging you on your opinion, not your curiosity. Getting pissy is not going to win the debate.

Do you have any idea the number of incidents involving mentally unstable people that happen daily? People like you are so quick to criticize the people in the system but are typically the same people that sit on their fat arse and don't try and change the system they are so unhappy with...nor are your type usually willing to pay the HUGE amount of taxes required to live in your Utopian world.

Shit happens. We need to assess and improve vs bitch and moan or double your taxes to allow enough resources to add more cops, add more social workers, add more medication etc. etc., or change the laws so we hang the criminals that cost us so much money.

Talk about getting pissy.
You have resorted to calling me names and implying that you have some sort of clue as to who i am on the other side of your screen. I am not interested in your tactics.

If you find that pissy then all the best to you. I would suggest reading up on the forum rules for posting, for the ban hammer may drop if you continue in this fashion.

Sidebanger really already answered your post.

However, to hopefully address your curiosity. In the jobs you have held was there not a fine line between "Yup, I ought to ask for help", (and it is my understanding from the newspapers that they had requested a supervisor), and being terminated because those above you feel you are incapable of doing anything under your own initiative. Further did I miss the that the Constables involved were brand new to the force??

You have your point of view and that is well.

Yes i have had jobs were i was not considered a "specialist" but my incompetence or ego did not potentially have the ability to destroy individuals and families.

What i understand is that in the police force after your training of 5-6 months you need 5 years and a certain grade to get into specialty fields. The fact that they are constables MAY reflect time on the job or not wanting to further their career's.

I have stated many times that i am awaiting more information on this scenario and my opinions and expressions reflect my outlook.

This is false. Please specify what 'name' I called you.

Thanks, I have read the rules. Perhaps you could clarify exactly which one I have broken in this thread.

Accusing someone of incompetence and/or narcissism with no facts. Nice.
What i understand is that in the police force after your training of 5-6 months you need 5 years and a certain grade to get into specialty fields.
This is all false, starting with the initial training which is 20 weeks or 4.6 months and your remaining 'facts' getting worse from there.
I have stated many times that i am awaiting more information on this scenario
This is false. As a rebutal in post 181 above you stated that you stated, you were waiting for the facts(which was also false). Let's give you the benefit of the doubt and count that as one. Many? No.

You seem to be able to make up 'facts' at the snap of a keyboard.

Check out how this Vietnam Vet handles a rookie cop during a routine traffic stop.

http://stileproject.com/video/6396/deputy-kyle-dinkheller-shot-to-death-at-a-traffic-stop.html

Using `suppressive fire’, Brannan systematically, methodically shot Dinkheller in the arms, legs, exposed areas that would not be covered had Dinkheller been wearing a bulletproof vest, slowly executing him. Reloading his weapon Brannan continued firing with the final death shot to Dinkheller’s right eye.
