So ever since Tim & Friends called it a day, I have been giving Overdrive and Real Kyper and Bourne (RK&B) a shot, but I just can't get into RK&B, Overdrive is ok but it got me thinking yesterday of the days of Tim & Sid - these two were great, one had the info and the other made me laugh. I feel the show RK&B are trying to hard and the the folks on Overdrive (especially O-Dog) think they are the shit in everything. Jamie is ok actually Hayes and O'Neil.....lets get Tim on there :p .

I used to always have the radio on 590 the fan except at 26 and 56 when I checked the business report on 680 to make sure that I had not lost so much that I had to stop this wonderful hobby. In my view 590 is horrendous now with most of the shows close to unbearable listening . Other than RK & B [ which I am okay with ] , the basketball show, Blair and Barker and some of the CBS Sports Radio that they use as filler I switch stations within 5 minutes.

I do miss TIM and SID. Really I cannot imagine SID having as much fun on the TV morning show, that switch must have been 100 % for much more money.

I have it on good authority that Sid Seixeiro left the show, he didn't like the conventional radio format that Rogers imposed. So he moved to Breakfast Television to be more of himself.

I always liked Sid's sistemacci.

I don't miss those guys and I don't watch the other shows, I think they are boring, they have the same format with the same personalities show after show after show.

I use to watch Bob McCowan all the time and i recently checked out his youtube show and it's the same with John Shannon...yawn after all these years.

Elliott Freidman is starting to fall in the same trap...overexposure. Jeff Marek too, who are these fucking guys who call themselves experts?

Most of these guys are just cheaper replacements for the networks.

Prime Time Sports still remains the gold standard for me.
Other blasts from the pasts were Stellick/ Cox/ DeGuilio afternoon show, Stellick/Landry morning show, Eric Smith/Paul Jones afternoon show.
Currently, I like Overdrive on TSN and J.D. Bunkis on Sportsnet.
Honourable mention to Matt Cauz on TSN and Kipper/Bourne on Sportsnet. Ben Ennis sounds good in the morning on Sportsnet.
Special shout out for super subs: Roger Lajoie on Sportsnet and Jim Tatti on TSN.

I watched Bob McCowan PTS show right up to the end...I also like Gord Stellick on SiriusXM...Kipper/Bourne don't do it for me at all...

I used to like the roundtable with McCown, Stephen Brunt, John Shannon, Damien Cox and assorted guests.

I didn't mind being stuck in traffic when this show was on.

The call in segments with the listeners was always entertaining.....Don't hear that much today.
The Friday roundtable wasn't bad...I'm not big on John Shannon, he was on Sportsnet way too much, like four times a day, as a TV executive he should of recognized over exposure, and he did more talking than the rest of the group put together.

I miss Tim & Sid as well although Sid could be a bit much (too intense) at times. They did a better job than Overdrive covering hockey beyond Leafs + better baseball analysis. Overdrive is actually better when there are guest hosts for Hayes and guest panellists for O-Dog. I don't care to hear about Hayes and O-Dog's personal golf games. Noodles is usually interesting.

Overdrive is awful. Even in the dead of summer they talk about Hockey. Then again what can we expect from two ex-NHLers and Hayes

Hayes is a very talented broadcaster and could do so much more with the show.. Tim and Sid was great!!!!

I don't miss Sid and his BT commentaries are a joke. I stopped watching BT as a result. Media outlets giving their "talent" these liberties seems stupid to me.

Tim, who I liked more of the duo is also getting a little old news. Every time he calls an athlete "my guy" makes me want to hurl.

He literally might be the dumbest news caster I've ever seen. Some of the stuff he says is beyond stupid and I have to think BT's ratings have dropped because of him. He one time went on a rant about how the York Regional Catholic Board not allowing to the pride flag to be flown made him sick. Really you fuck tard??? So a school board founded on the catholic religion, a religion that doesn't exactly support the idea of being gay doesn't think it's a good idea to fly a pride flag??? If there was a private Muslim school that didn't want to fly the flag would say the same thing?

The irony is his stupidity was actually the thing that made him likeable as a sports personality. He did have some good takes on sports sometimes as well, but being the goofball was his bread and butter.
